November 24, 201113 yr Obviously the recession has affected you a lot, given that you don't seem to be able to afford the necessary letters to spell 'recession.'

November 24, 201113 yr I'm finding it hard to get a job, the price of Diesel is utterly outrageous and my wages are only going up at 2.5% when inflation is running at 5.2%. On the other hand, I am enjoying my new car immensely. Although it would be lovely if VAT was still 17.5% as it would save me a pretty penny, but I've reduced the amount I pay in Fuel Tax via doubling my MPG and never have to pay road tax again :funky:

Forgive me but am a bit confused. Getting old you see. :( You say you're having difficulty finding a job but then you mention your wages.

November 24, 201113 yr No cut in your undeserved benefits then? I'm worried actually as will be re-assessed soon under the new Incapacity Benefit rules and probably declared fit for work by evil ATOS so will appeal but that takes 8-9 months. I'd have to claim Jobseekers but wouldn't be entitled to any as my wife earns £10 more than the amount a spouse can earn. She says she won't pay all the bills so am stuffed. May have only one option left. :( I'm not sleeping at night with the worry. What an evil Government we have now. Edited November 24, 201113 yr by Common Sense

November 24, 201113 yr Emigration? :w00t: I wasn't thinking of that but yes that may be an option. B-)
November 24, 201113 yr Oh the horror! You may have to do an honest day's work like the rest of us, an honest day's work that you ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE OF YOU LAZY SHIT I might just add.
November 24, 201113 yr Emigration? :w00t: As if another country is lenient enough to less a work shy shit skive off on benefits like the UK.
November 24, 201113 yr What, actually bothering to try and find a job?! YOU POOR LAMB. I know I'm unfit for work and so does my GP but Atos are finding most people fit for work. They've been told to by the nasty Tories. Over 50% of appeals are being won but they take time. There are so many appeals pending that the system's about to collapse. Why so many appeals? Atos getting the decisions wrong!
November 24, 201113 yr Oh the horror! You may have to do an honest day's work like the rest of us, an honest day's work that you ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE OF YOU LAZY SHIT I might just add. Are you a Dr.? My GP says I'm incapable of any work due to depression and will back me in writing for any assesment or appeal. You've never met me yet know I'm fit for work. Are you questioning a professional man? This forum has no sympathy for ill and disabled people. :( Edited November 24, 201113 yr by Common Sense
November 24, 201113 yr You are not disabled. There is absolutely no reason at all you can't stack shelves, man a till or do a basic office job. OH WAIT. I forgot laziness.

You've never met me yet know I'm fit for work. This forum has no sympathy for ill and disabled people. :( I'm no expert on depression (along with most people here) and don't want to be judgemental. However, I find it hard to believe that you are incapable of doing any work, ever. It seems to me that you would be perfectly capable of doing some work, some of the time. That may be from home or it may be at a workplace. However, the current system doesn't allow for that. The system should be flexible enough to allow for people on incapacity benefit to work a variable number of hours. Some weeks that may be zero while in other weeks it may be a full working week.
