I really liked Lick Ya Down but this isn't really impressing me on first listen, the instrumental sounds a lot like I'm Into You, obviously this is far from as epic as that though...

I saw this yesterday, I think? Either way, it's nowhere near as good as Lick Ya Down, and the chorus is annoying at worst and weak at best.

 

I thought they were an interesting act with quite a bit to offer, this isn't showing that though.

It's less annoying than Lick You Down. But it's still sub-Rihanna shite.

Absolutely addicted to this. It's not off Capital lately. Everytime I turn it on/go into a shop that plays Capital, this is on and it's addictive and a hundred times better than LYD. Hopefully it'll be a surprise hit.

Agreed, in what world is it not as good as Lick Ya Down? It's easily one of the best pop songs around at the moment.

 

But then I've always been a sucker for that sort of production sound (see also Keri Hilson - Lose Control, half of Rihanna's recent back catalogue etc...).

 

I can see it going top five (low top ten at worst) and hanging around for a while, certainly longer than Lick Ya Down did anyway...

Definitely this. Certainly didn't expect it to be a grower, but it is. Therefore, in a complete turnaround of opinion, I will retract this statement:

Chorus is epic, it has far less potential to be annoying than Lick Ya Down, and it's Barbadian! 'I can feel this beat getting stronger' :wub:

 

I actually want to hear the album now, I'd marked Lick Ya Down as a one-off, hopefully this can get much bigger.

I definitely think top 5 is possible. Especially as it's such a quiet time for new releases. Swedish House Mafia (Sunday) and Lana Del Rey (next Sunday - with these) are the only new releases getting enough hype to go top 10. Gotye will get top 10 some point in the next couple of weeks though. But still, should be easy enough for them to get another top 10 at the very least and (like you said) hang around longer than LYD has.

It was very instant for me due to the production (hence the top 10 debut in my chart), but a grower at the same time thanks to the melody I guess :lol: Nice to hear you've changed your mind on it Eyes! Tom and Liam next please :P

A Cover Drive album is certainly needed asap, I love both this & 'Lick Ya Down', possibly to equal amounts.

 

But tbh, was I ever not going to like a song called 'Twilight'? :kink:

I can't help but be reminded of this vastly underrated pop song from 2004 (like Twilight, a #3 hit in my chart - sadly a Popular sized #76 SMASH in the UK). Off topic but I've just found out that the lead female singer of this group was killed in a car accident in 2009 :(

 

'Lick Ya Down' was hideous but I don't mind this, actually quite catchy. I think stranger things have happened than the prospect of this going top 5, which is odd as Radio 1 playlisted the last single and for some reason snubbed this. The amount of play it's getting from other mediums will more than make up for that though!

After the mess that was 'Lick Ya Down', I really wasn't expecting much from 'Twilight' until I heard it. Such an improvement and should easily be a bigger hit for Cover Drive.

This is not AS godawful as 'Lick Ya Down' but still nothing special.

Loving this song atm think its gonna do really well Capital fm are promoting them so much on there website and hearing it a lot on radio

after the total non-song that was Lick Ya Down, this isn't very original and the lyrics aren't great, but its certainly a massive improvement

This is actually now finally growing on me :lol: I still prefer Lick Ya Down but this is growing on me quite a bit. It's very cliche and the lyrics are at times cringey but it's getting there!
