November 27, 201114 yr Wow! Rihanna again! :o Is that 6 weeks now? When was the last time a song had that many weeks at #1? It's all in this week's commentary :D
November 27, 201114 yr I guess we should enjoy the moment. The X Factor 'Charity Single' is next week
November 27, 201114 yr Author 3 weeks at 1 then 3 weeks again - like Puff Daddy et al with I'll Be Missing You in 1997!
November 27, 201114 yr Weird to think that the most recent #1s were: Sak Noel 'Loca People' (1 week) Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris 'We Found Love' (3 weeks) Professor Green featuring Emeli Sande 'Read All About It' (2 weeks) Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris 'We Found Love' (3 weeks) ^ Only 3 #1 singles in the space of ~60 days.
November 27, 201114 yr she continues to amaze me with her success :o six weeks at number 1 is amazing, unlikely she'll get a seventh but it really doesn't matter! Olly's song is quite nice, this should actually have a bit more longevity than the other number 2s Rihanna's stopped
November 27, 201114 yr Surely Rihanna can't beat The X Factor Finalists can she? No, I think she will be #3 or even #4. I think it will be between XFF and Olly, but I think XFF will do it, but we will have to see how it performs after tonight, its not going amazingly atm.
November 27, 201114 yr Thank You :D The 2009 one was my least fav so I forgot its whole title! Boots was epic though, love the sample from Its A Wonderful Life! Boots is such a brilliant song  Bloody Rihanna, I grew out of WFL weeks ago :(
November 27, 201114 yr 3 weeks at 1 then 3 weeks again - like Puff Daddy et al with I'll Be Missing You in 1997! And guess where you can also read that?
November 27, 201114 yr We Found Love is still growing on me somehow. I loved it instantly and have done for the past couple of months but the X Factor performance combined with hearing it out in a club for the first time and it suddenly sounds incredible to me!
November 27, 201114 yr Author And guess where you can also read that? ^_^ 6 weeks at #1 is quite rare actually - 7 weeks seems more likely :o
November 27, 201114 yr Thank You :D The 2009 one was my least fav so I forgot its whole title! Boots was epic though, love the sample from Its A Wonderful Life! It was also a bit of a revival for their fortunes. "A Great Big Sled" was one of the last songs to be disqualified from the chart for being download-only but got to #4 on iTunes and #11 on the downloads chart. It could have been massive with better promotion and different chart rules, one of my favourite Christmas songs and the first one I'll play on Thursday. Since then, their peaks have been: #34 Don't Shoot Me Santa #88 Joseph, Better You Than Me (killed their fortunes completely, this was while "Human" was smashing it) #110 ¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe! #53 Boots Don't hold much hope for the new one going top 40, being out on a Thursday it has three days to gain momentum and then seven days to hold its position.
November 27, 201114 yr Boots is such a brilliant song  Bloody Rihanna, I grew out of WFL weeks ago :( Indeed, will get to listen to it again now when all my xmas songs are added to my ipod! :D
November 27, 201114 yr Rihanna 160k + One Direction 138k on the albums Good stuff, wonder if Westlife and Buble made it past 100k too, if so the albums are looking up! Although how on earth 2012 is going to keep up with 2011 in the absence of 5 million adele sales i dont know?! :(

Indeed remember it being disqualified in 2005 and being disgusted becuase i love a christmas song in the chart so i do!It probably peaked high in 2005 due to them being massive commercially at the time, pity radio 1 never seem to promote their xmas singles....although they do give them random plays when theyre playing xmas songs in December. They played TGBS and Boots last year randomly!
November 27, 201114 yr We Found Love is now the longest running #1 since Bleeding Love and the longest running #1 of the year - congratulations to Rihanna, couldn't have happened to a better song  Question is, how many more weeks can Rihanna hold on for? :D

I can see X Factor Finalists (again) or Flo Rida getting the week inbetween.
November 27, 201114 yr I guess we should enjoy the moment. The X Factor 'Charity Single' is next week I wouldn't be too sure - it dosen't seem to be doing well on Itunes. I predict a #2 peak position at the very most :o Edited November 27, 201114 yr by Griff
