Bre how do you know Buble is increasing and how far behind Olly is he? Are there any live itunes album popularity charts to keep track of this battle?

I don't know but I'd think it's a fairly safe bet considering his sales pattern thus far:

05/11 #3 53,736 (-)

12/11 #5 35,885 (-33.2%)

19/11 #2 61,535 (+71.5%)

26/11 #1 85,787 (+39.4%)

03/12 #3 115,445 (+34.6%)

He's increased rapidly the past 3 weeks and there's no reason he'd stop now, I suspect he'll continue to grow really quickly for the next four weeks, possibly peaking around the 300k mark in the Christmas week.

Also he seems to have stronger sales towards the tail end of the week (we couldn't tell this last week of course but it was obvious from the previous 2 weeks) while Olly will be starting to tail off a lot by then.

thank you

forget Ollys revenge on Rihanna more like his revenge on Joe Mcelderry

albums out in the same week n hes no1 while Joes not top10

the buble as ever is holding up well he'll be back at no1 when his itv special has aired

It's not really very fair to compare the nation's top male pop act (following a #1 and a #2 single) with a Christmas album in November. (Yes, I know Mickey Bubble's Christmas album has hit #1 already, but it's not normal to buy seasonal albums this early.) Joe's sales should grow over the next four weeks, as more people realise it exists, plus impulse buys in shops.

As Kylie's Aphrodite Live is charting this week, can I ask - how do the sales from these Live CD/DVD combos work? Do they appear in both the album and the DVD charts? I notice with both Kylie and Madonna's previous Live releases, you can often buy them in a CD case or a DVD case - so is that how they split the sales??

Sorry if these are age-old questions but I've never quite understood if they are valid for both charts or not

Saying that though, I haven't seen any promotion for Joes new album and it looks like he's gonna sell the same as his last albums first week sales, so although he's not top ten (he's at #12) he's doing just fine.

I've seen a TV ad for it already.

i wasnt trying to compare the albums just the competition they came from and the posotions they came back then

i hope joes album does sell well he comes across really well in interviews and its nice to see that not all male x factor winners disapear after their first album no matter how badly simons label handles them

i wouldnt be surprised if michale buble overtook olly by the end of the week either way both albums are gonna have high sales by sunday

Realy disappointed Kelly Rowland isnt in the top 40 with her new album its a great record and she deserves success i just hope the album climbs after her x factor performance.

Ok, Mikey closed this topic and for good reason - please stop with the circular Joe McElderry arguments - we do not need pages and pages of it. This is a busy week for the chart and there is plenty to talk about without Joe loons droning on.

I hope this is clear.

N-Dubz having a greatest hits album out  No comment as i'm sure most think the same.

Kelly Rowland not even top 40 :o Maybe next week after X Fcator, but cant see it doing massive things for the album. WHat have her previous albums sold? How many has she had (solo?)

21 #10, wonder if it'll stay top 10 AGAIN this week :o

There were warnings issued earlier in the thread by myself and Jester and they were ignored.

Thank you.

Have NDubz even had enough hits to release a greatest hits? I can only think of number 1 and i need you...cant stand tulisa anyways, next to the judges she really does pale in comparison.

I expect Kelly Rowland to go top 20 next week at the worst after she does the performance on XF

MB will definately sell a million before Christmas..he still has an XF appearance and an ITV special

They haven't really had enough 'hits' per se (although they have more than you make out - We Dance On, Playing With Fire, Say It's Over, Strong Again and Papa Can You Hear Me? were all fairly big, Bad Behaviour also went top 10 but vanished quickly) but I think they could have got away with this release if they'd done it as a 'singles collection'. That's basically what it is but it lacks We Dance On for some reason and is beefed up a bit with 'N-Dubz versions' of Number 1 and No Regrets plus an album track and a couple of Live Lounge performances.

For Bublé to reach #1 he'll need to average 129,522 per week for the next 5 weeks - but this includes the post-Xmas lull when its sales will plummet quite probably by 90% or more, so you could say he needs to average 161,903 a week for the next four weeks, which I think is easily achievable.

Yeah, N-Dubz have enough singles, but not really enough hits. They have songs on the album that missed the top 20 I think. So unless it's Dog Days Are Over, I don't really know how you'd consider that big enough to be on a "Greatest Hits" album.

Playing With Fire was actually a really big hit though. Maybe even bigger than I Need You. It had a massive chart run for its peak. It peaked on its 11th week in the chart!!

I thought Kelly would do better but did anyone really think N Dubz greatest hits would do well? I've not seen it receive any promotion and in any case they're crap. I thought it'd be a matter of time until Tulisa does a Cheryl but after The Collective bombing with her on lead vocal she might not even be a success you know. I still think she'll have a crack at it but with Jessie J, do we really need Tulisa? Dunno if there's a gap in the market for her to squeeze into. If Cheryl brings out new stuff she's gonna struggle even more.

Britain clearly haven't taken to Kelly enough as a solo personality. She could have done with a better single to launch the album though, so many singles on there as well but I guess everyone who wants them has them as they've all been released ages ago. I can see her replacing Nicole on US X Factor where she'll probably connect more.

Cheryl is going to release another album next year. I'm really, really excited for it personally, since will.i.am is producing most of it I think, and also people like Alex Da Kid have songs on there. Cheryl will struggle if she doesn't get promotion, and she'll do well if she does I think.

And lol @ Jessie J vs. Tulisa. They're not exactly the same! They're both white female urban-pop singers, but that didn't stop Nelly Furtado and Fergie both being successful at the same time a few years ago. Tulisa would probably do more electro stuff than Jessie.

About X Factor judges, I'd personally love if both Nicole and Kelly could be on the UK version together.
