Well the Lloyd single is popular cos it's very Bruno Mars esque and it's actually very good. Or maybe it's just the rapping pussy. The T-Pain single though, well that's flat out autotune abuse, albeit with clever sample use.

We Are Young by Glee Cast is #1 on US iTunes! :o second time this series!

Anyway, one day before episode airs;

Glee top 200 update:

81. We Are Young

93. Survivor/I Will Survive

167. Perfect

195. Rumour Has It/Someone Like You

Amy down to #18 :( Disappointed she's falling already. Ah well, her album is doing fine :P

It is such a weird time of year to have Flo Rida, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne and T-Pain in the UK top 5 on iTunes. With X-Factor seemingly dominating the media, you'd think ballads and pop artists would be dominating the charts in the run up to Christmas. Will 2012 be a welcomed return to R&B/Hip-Hop?

As for Azealia Banks in the top 100 - I'm thrilled. I purchased it earlier, having watched the video non-stop yesterday evening - it's like Duck Sauce, Nicki Minaj and The Noisettes all rolled into one; a very strong contender to win (or at least be short-listed) for the Sound of 2012. I'm hoping it can debut inside the top 100 officially this week and climb as per 'Do It Like a Dude' did last year.

Azealia Banks is fully amazing, I've been behind her for months now and it feels so good to see her finally looking like breaking free - I always thought she was going to be big, it was just a matter of time, with the SO2012 hype, I'm fairly sure 212 will be at least a moderate hit!

Yeah, I remember last year there was a top 5 of completely ballads at one point iirc.

I don't think hip hop has done that bad this year. Largely thanks to UK rappers and a few female pop stars singing over hip hop beats.

But RnB has done dreadfully. I think RnB could get more popular next year, judging by the current chart, and other things such as the recent Drake phenomenon we're seeing in the UK, and the increase in popularity of piano music we've seen this year, would logically lead to RnB getting more popular again. I also think RnB will get more popular next year, simply because I don't really think it's possible for it to get any less popular than it is now!

i dont like the thought of album from a dead person (rip) it just freaks me out a bit

oh...

i haven't really looked at it since im not really a big fan of her.

Congrats on Lily Allen achieving her third #1 single. It'll also be her first #1 single that's not any good.

I don't think it'll get there officially, because of the slow start it had on Sunday.

imo, The Fear>>>>>>>>>>>>5 O'Clock>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Smile

Smile is boring. I remember when it was popular, Example did a remix to it called Vile (or something like that ). This was back when he was a bit of a nobody, but I used to hear it on the radio. But I can understand what drove him to do that song. :coffee:

The fact that it's a cash in album irks me more. cashing in on death? Ugh.

It's a cash-in for charity.

I don't even see it as a return. What has 2011 been about if not urban music?

2011 hasn't been even remotely about urban - the two dominating sounds have been club bangers/electropop and piano ballads. (If you're calling the former 'urban' that's not the 'type' of urban music that SLlewellyn is referring to).

-x-

Top version of Fairytale Of New York now ahead of second version of All I Want For Christmas Is You. Still not great but Mariah's versions both being ahead of The Pogues' respective versions is better than her versions both being higher than both of theirs. If that makes sense. Hopefully Mariah's second version will fall a lot more anyway.
