Posted December 8, 201113 yr The number ones for the rest of this year are most likely to be Olly Murs, X Factor Winner then Military Wives Choir - but who will be the first "normal" number one of 2012? ;) Here are the major releases coming up to help: 2 January JLS "Do You Feel What I Feel" Rihanna "You Da One" Taio Cruz "Troublemaker" Possible Climbers Lloyd feat. Andre 3000 & Lil' Wayne "Dedication To My Ex" Flo Rida "Good Feeling" T-Pain feat. Lily Allen & Wiz Khalifa "5 O'Clock" Azealia Banks feat. Lazy Jay "212" (if she gets lots of hype from Sound Of 2012) so what do people think? personally I think Lloyd has enough life left in it to climb to #1 Edited December 20, 201113 yr by *xmasG*
December 8, 201113 yr I am going to take a wild prediction and predict that Lloyd is going to be the first #1 of 2012 :)
December 8, 201113 yr I also think Lloyd could climb there in the new year, or T-Pain. There's no obvious contenders this time.
December 8, 201113 yr Lloyd or Rihanna. JLS will follow their pattern of #1 summer hit, top 2/3 November hit, lower top 10 New Year hit :P
December 8, 201113 yr I reckon it be a climber, most likely Lloyd, I love it when sales crash after Xmas week.
December 8, 201113 yr It depends on who wins XF and with what song. Lloyd will have his work cut out to beat them but he could do it.
December 8, 201113 yr I reckon it be a climber, most likely Lloyd, I love it when sales crash after Xmas week. Sales rise dramatically after Xmas week (unless you are talking albums)?
December 8, 201113 yr Sales rise dramatically after Xmas week (unless you are talking albums)? On the whole yes, but not necessarily at the very top. I can't see any of the "new" releases getting to #1 (unless JLS do a "What's My Name?" after being on the X Factor final) so probably Lloyd on poor sales, with Azealia Banks toppling him later?
December 8, 201113 yr Lloyd or T-Pain are the only contenders for #1 for me at this point - although I'd love to see 'Paradise' by Coldplay top the charts.
December 8, 201113 yr Surely Lloyd I'd imagine - given Azealia is already falling on iTunes I don't think she'll quite do a Do It Like A Dude with 212 :( Taio Cruz maybe has a chance as well, not sure though.
December 9, 201113 yr Author Lady GaGa - Marry The Night! That won't even be top 10 let alone number one
December 9, 201113 yr If the campaign beats the X Factor winner to Christmas #1, I can see the X Factor winner climbing back to #1 the week after (its 3rd week of release) tbh.
December 9, 201113 yr I'm sticking with my original prediction of Lloyd. Even though T-Pain is (somehow) #1 on iTunes, I hope 'Dedication...' gets a significant post-Xmas boost.
December 11, 201113 yr I could actually see this being Paradise now :o That would be absolutely fantastic and hopefully the year will follow by seeing a bit of a return for alternative/rock music (probably won't happen but now the club banger phase seems to have died on its arse the market is perhaps slightly more accommodative of it now?)
December 11, 201113 yr Have to agree with Bre, I never expected Coldplay to get such a boost after their Jonathan Ross performance so they could well be the UK #1 on 1st Jan 2012. :D
December 11, 201113 yr Author I wouldn't be surprised if Coldplay did get it really, but this new Leona Lewis song is climbing fast up iTunes - so I think that has a chance too as its much newer than Paradise (and better imo)
