Album Discussion Here

OLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :w00t:

shame Lloyd couldn't get to number 1 - definitely one of my favourite songs of the genre atm  hopefully it can hang around into the new year

but YES at XFF not at number 1, hopefully a big fall for this next week :D

Edited by C.W

Official Charts gave away the #1 7 minutes ago on twitter when Reggie was talking to LLoyd. Surely should have waited!

Who'da thunk Olly Murs would actually climb to #1? Thrilled to see it happening :D Even if it is completely by default and on awful sales.

Edited by Bré

I have to say, Olly Murs is the last person I'd've expected to see climb to #1 (well, not quite the last, but it's unexpected ).

I bet Olly is really surprised too. He probably assumed he'd peak in his first week, given the promotion campaign he did.

I wish 'Heart On My Sleeve' and 'Busy' had done better than they did - it'd really make for an impressive discography. 'Dance With Me Tonight' is a track reflective of Olly's personality - a big factor into where his success came from; so good on him for claiming a third solo #1 with it. Wonder how single #3 from the album will fare though.
Actually, I've been told that they settled out of court, with Manilow declaring that his part of the revenues would go to the Band Aid/Live Aid cause.

You were told eh? :D . Michael conceeded that he may have heard the original (how do you prove a negative?) but that it was not "purposeful" plagiarism if that makes sense. Wham! had already said that the proceeds were going to Band Aid before it was released so Manilow would only have been depriving the charity if he had been successful. The case was effectively dropped before a judge formally decided but to save everyone's face it was described as "out of court"- according to what I read anyway, obviously I wasn't there :D

Kudos to Olly, not actually a huge fan of the song but it's an improvement on X Factor Finalists and it's always nice to see a song climbing to #1 naturally (albeit by default in this circumstance).

I can see X Factor Finalists falling out of the top 10 next week.

This will be the first time I heard Olly's song in full! :o

I'm really pleased that Olly's made #1 in his third week, especially with the album out. It's a great song.

Funny to see him deposing the show on which he's working!

That Lloyd song really surprised me as well; it sounds pretty damn good.

ALBUMS

Amy Winehouse 194k

Michael Buble 190k

Rbecca Ferguson 128K

Olly Murs 113k

It seems to be so hard for an album to break 200k these days, hopefully next week for Buble at the very least!
Think the xfactor finalists will hang around another while with the cd - think its sold 10k cds this week!!
Very pleased for Olly, the song may be fairly generic, but it's still enjoyable enough, and a vast improvement on last week's number 1.

(6) T-Pain-5 O'Clock

This tune is T-Pain's biggest UK hit thanks to Lily allen.

Made up for Olly! I mean to listen to the chart show, forgot all about it! 113k for his 2nd week album is amazing too! Over 250k in just 2 weeks.
