December 11, 201114 yr Looking forward to the singles battle today, I suspect it will be Olly Murs which would be an impressive chart run for an X Factor runner up of two years ago! Also very much hoping to see as many xmas songs as possible in the top 40 :D My retro faves; 2011 02. (-) Willow Smith - Whip My Hair One hit wonder? I suspect she'll be back with a smash one day... 03. (2) Ellie Goulding - Your Song 04. (8) Rihanna - What's My Name ft Drake 05. (7) Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) 06. (5) Far East Movement - Like A G6 ft Cataracs & Dev 09. (9) David Guetta - Who's That Chick ft Rihanna 10. (3) Nicole Scherzinger - Poison 2006 01. (1) Take That - Patience 05. (4) Nelly Furtado - All Good Things (Come To An End) 07. (6) Beyonce - Irreplaceable 08. (-) Gwen Stefani - Wind It Up Lazy Town prevented this from being the most novelty song in the top ten :P I know nobody else did but I adore this! 09. (8) Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit 2001 01. (1) Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This 02. (-) Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor Amazing pop song, wish it had been a #1  03. (2) S Club 7 - Have You Ever 05. (-) Steps - Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well Boring double a-side to end their career on, particularly Words Are Not Enough, hope there's a new (amazing) single next year 06. (3) PPK - ResuRection 07. (-) Hermes House Band - Country Roads  Remember this being tipped for xmas #1 by some sources! Still it had a few weeks in the top ten considering its low peak! 08. (6) Kate Winslet - What If 10. (5) Riva - Who Do You Love Now (Stringer) ft Dannii Minogue 1996 01. (-) Boyzone - A Different Beat Rather epic actually for a boyband song, quite tribal sounding 04. (5) Robert Miles - One And One ft Maria Nayler 07. (-) Manic Street Preachers - Australia The theme tune to Renford Rejects, anybody remember that? 08. (-) The Beautiful South - Don't Marry Her
December 11, 201114 yr Author 02. (-) Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor Amazing pop song, wish it had been a #1  One of my fave #2's ever. Robbed!
December 11, 201114 yr I'm really looking forward to today's charts, as both singles and albums are quite unpredictable at the top, plus a whole flurry of Christmas songs coming in, with two more weeks still to go. I'm amazed how much Coldplay's performance on Graham Norton increased the sales for Paradise, which has been stuck at the top of iTunes ever since. Where have these people been for the last month? Did they not realise the song was out before?!
December 11, 201114 yr I should think Olly Murs will be #1 today, here's hoping XFF haven't clawed it back with Saturday physicals :D Looking forward to seeing where Paradise charts (could be anywhere from 7 to 10 I reckon). Also looking forward to seeing where all the Christmas songs are :D Hopefully at least #16 for The Pogues. I hope JLS have snuck into the top 40 with Do You Feel What I Feel? :( Edited December 11, 201114 yr by Bré
December 11, 201114 yr One of my fave #2's ever. Robbed! Same, I was absolutely gutted when Daniel and Sophie climbed back to #1/#2 after the xmas rush and Robbie/Gordon Haskell slipped away - I was hoping she'd manage to leapfrog Daniel but it never happened :(
December 11, 201114 yr I'm really looking forward to today's charts, as both singles and albums are quite unpredictable at the top, plus a whole flurry of Christmas songs coming in, with two more weeks still to go. Are they? I think the top 5 is pretty much set in stone as Amy #1, Bublé #2, Rebecca #3, Olly #4, Rihanna #5 unless Graham Norton propelled Coldplay into the top 5 at the last minute (I hope it did :P)
December 11, 201114 yr I should probably get preparing the chart runs for all the Christmas songs, especially Slade who have charted about 15 times
December 11, 201114 yr Eurgh a year since one of the worst no.1s ever! It could have been worse - it could have been Willow.
December 11, 201114 yr Are they? I think the top 5 is pretty much set in stone as Amy #1, Bublé #2, Rebecca #3, Olly #4, Rihanna #5 unless Graham Norton propelled Coldplay into the top 5 at the last minute (I hope it did :P) You're probably right, but as Saturday shoppers seem to be having quite an effect, plus the Coldplay effect from Friday night, it's still interesting.
December 11, 201114 yr Jamelia's 'Beware of the Dog' made top 10? I thought it sunk without a trace. I loved that shiz.
December 11, 201114 yr :yahoo: I should probably get preparing the chart runs for all the Christmas songs, especially Slade who have charted about 15 times  Don't forget the December 1980 "re-entry" was a live recording credited to "Slade & The Reading Choir" and not the original version we all know and love
December 11, 201114 yr It could have been worse - it could have been Willow. Any one of that Top 4 would have been "one of the worst number ones ever"
December 11, 201114 yr Author Any one of that Top 4 would have been "one of the worst number ones ever" Willow is far worse then The Time imo.
December 11, 201114 yr :yahoo: Don't forget the December 1980 "re-entry" was a live recording credited to "Slade & The Reading Choir" and not the original version we all know and love We all know -true. We all love - perhaps a tad strong (well, for me anyway). The only Christmas song I'd love to see enter is Mike Oldfield's 'In Dulce Jubilo', although I cannot see that happening, at least this Christmas anyway.
December 11, 201114 yr Of course, what I'm looking forward to most is hearing Reggie Wrong read out the full artist credit for 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday'. For the benefit of our younger audience, it's by: Wizzard, featuring vocal backing by The Suedettes, plus the Stockland Green Bilateral School First Year Choir, with additional noises by Miss Snob & Class 3C Here in Birmingham, we've taken a peculiar pride in that line-up for the last 38 years. And before you ask, the school no longer exists under that name. It won't happen of course, because; (a) It's not listed like that on iTunes (b) Reggie isn't remotely interested in any aspect of the charts, except having his pretend showbiz friends in the studio © I won't be listening
December 11, 201114 yr Able to listen to chart today! I hope XFF manage to cling on to #1. I've enjoyed this year's series. Hopefully Mariah will climb into the top 10, Jessie will have climbed, Beyonce will be top 20, Katy Perry also climbs and loads of Xmas songs fill the top 40. :D
