Go on Rebecca still in top 40 with NRBL

I don't think they will be too fussed about Leona it wasn't really a single (Technically she's yet to release a single from her third album, Collide is Aviici's)

What always bugs me about these campaigns is that if you really want to beat Cowell you should go for the second biggest selling single of that week and not decide months in advance but wait for that week and in the case of last year go for Rhianna. Obviously this year its working (it is for charity) but last year at least that would have been the way forward.

I think it's fair to say that they've won  :cheer:

*pukes* :puke2:

Well, Lou Monte will be top 3 tomorrow and maybe number 2 on sunday.

Poor Alex Day. I wish he was still selling as well as sunday night. :(

Military Wives will be the first new Christmas song to be Christmas number 1 in 21 years!

In what way is 'Wherever You Are' a Christmas song?

Amazing sales for MW :o

I keep on thinking this is Music Week related  any chance of adding a C at the end

By the way, it's Stacey Solomon, not Stacey Soloman.

Sorted.

And in what way, there are no lyrics of Santa, snow, tinsel, etc etc etc, there are no references of any Christmas content in its lyrics. Any chance of shedding more light on it as I can't figure how its Christmas related.

The last Christmas song that features any Christmas lyrics is Band Aid / Do They Know Its Christmas?. its got the word Christmas, snow, in its actual lyrics, so I beg to differ.

Amazing sales for MW. I personally think the song is quite touching and rather easy to listen to. Not worthy of number one, but I suppose it's for a good cause. Still don't believe in all the charity singles crap. I'd much rather donate directly to a charity. But oh well, it's alot better than that Donkey song.
I would have quite liked it if the MWC song was released last week. I think it would have still been likely to claim the Xmas #1
How much are MW looking to sell by the end of the week? :)

510k according to my predictions. :teresa:

I think the multiplier from first mids to Sunday is normally about x2.5-3 or something but due to the MEGAFUCKTON of pre-orders included in the Wives' total today I can see them getting a much lower multiplier. Still at least over 500k though I'd guess.
Absolutely massive sales for Military Wives! Makes the Christmas race a bit boring now to be honest, but will be interesting to see how well Little Mix hold up over the following week and whether they can reclaim the number 1. The only good news for me is Lana Del Rey re-entering the Top 40. :D

The 'race' for #1 is boring but if you look beyond that the rest of the chart is still incredibly unpredictable.

I'm surprised no Joe-fans have asked yet: but where was Joe McElderry's just-released single 'Last Christmas'? I believe it's out on the same label as MWives - seems odd timing. Thanks

Little Mix have sold 38k so far, so they're heading for another 100k+ week. They should drop off massively next week though.

Dog food?

It surely will!

I really hope Military Wives will slow down a lot during the week. But given they're holding up steadily in iTunes I pretty much doubt it. They are receiving massive hype now.

I'd imagine Military Wives will easily get a second week at #1 though I suspect it'll lose the number one spot on itunes during next week at some point. I am beginning to wonder if they could take advantage of the quiet January releases and stay at #1 for a third week too?

Lana Del Rey for Top 40 > Top 10 climb next week please. :D

'Video Games' has also started to take off rather well across Europe (#1 in Germany ^_^ ) so it would be nice if Lana got a nice little boost next week and reclimbed back into the top 10.

Is it too much to predict Lana Del Rey to be the first #1 of 2012 on the strength of the iTunes gift card :D I can see the track performing better next week when all the clap trap above her start falling.
