Taio Cruz would be a 'fresh' #1 but Coldplay wouldn't? :huh:

I much prefer Coldplay, but surely you can see why Taio being #1 would be considered more 'fresh'? Paradise has already been in the charts for like, 8 weeks or something?

I've heard Troublemaker about 5 times in all - twice of my own accord (to see what it's like, it's just about listenable but not something I'd download and play out of choice) and about 3 times (probably not even that) when I've seen it on music TV. I've not heard on radio at all but then again I only really listen for max an hour a week, and that's only in the car. I can't see it going to number 1, it might do something simialr to Good Feeling/Moves Like Jagger/The A Team though (on a MUCH lower scale of course) and stick around for a while then climb.

I suppose it is 'fresher' (I'd say 'newer' though) from a chart persepctive but musically, no. And if it does go #1 it's only going to be another non-#1 which would not be a good way to start the year.

In terms of sound, anything Taio churns out is the complete opposite of "fresh". I really don't see the appeal of this guy. I mean, he appeared quite promising in 2008 (with songs like 'I Can Be') but then he completely sold out as an artist and is releasing music that he probably doesn't even believe in himself. His music is just iPod filler. Surely nobody would actually buy it to listen to... :P

On Jools Holland tonight (BBC2), it probably won't do nothing much as it starts 11;15pm featuring acts from Cyndi Lauper, Jessie J, Sandie Shaw, Aloe Blacc, James Morrison, The Vaccines, Imelda May, Buddy Greco, and Caro Emerald.

 

 

Jessie J and James Morrison might benefit something from it. That's actually a good line up.

Little Mix's second single needs to be released in August Imo or else I can see them flopping majorly. They will not even sell over 600,000 which is worrying. Although they have not really promoted on other shows after the xFactor.

NO I AGREE!!! :P Seriously though, I can't even stand 'Dynamite'. It is the epitome of "overrated". The fact that both 'Dynamite' and BYH were huge in the US yet his album majorly underperformed shows that he doesn't even have an established fanbase. It's the features and radio airplay that have made him successful. He's just, as you say, pointless.

I really want 'Love On Top' and 'The One That Got Away' to go top ten. :( Think they'll both miss out, though.

I think EVERYONE agrees that Taio is totally pointless :lol: Everyone on this forum anyway. And it's proven he has virtually no fanbase when his albums sell practically nothing despite having big singles. People just happen to like the occasional single by him.
