Sales are out for the #1, I know we usually have a no spoilers policy but it's a bit different when it's already been announced an hour ago so if you want to see them they're on the BBC news website within the main article of the most read story. Absolutely amazing opening week but nevertheless, judging by them, I think On The Floor is safe in the EOY top ten :cheer:

How about concatenating the "weeks top xx" bits so it looks something like

6 weeks top 40; 9 weeks top 75; 12 weeks top 100

Wow :o

Glad Jen's gonna be safe in the top 10 :wub:

Alright, I'll do that ^_^ Probably is a good idea to include top 75 weeks since quite a lot of people don't consider 76-100 to be official.

My retro comments;

2010;

02. (2) Rihanna feat Drake - What's My Name

05. (5) Ellie Goulding - Your Song

06. (7) Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)

07. (6) Take That - The Flood

08. (12) Katy Perry - Firework

10. (11) Far East Movement feat Cataracs & Dev - Like A G6

2006;

01. (-) Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This Adore this, still my favourite X Factor winner's single, Leona's voice amazed me

02. (1) Take That - Patience

04. (50) Girls Aloud - I Think We're Alone Now Huge climb, ah 2006, as with every GA release I can recall the fans being concerned that this might miss the top ten at the time. It came nowhere close to missing it but it was far from their finest hour.

05. (4) Cascada - Truly Madly Deeply

2001;

01 (1) Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman - Somethin' Stupid

02 (-) Gordon Haskell - How Wonderful You Are Strange that this was the only top ten new entry in Xmas week, I wonder why with such low sales for #1 and realistic chances of getting an 'easy' Xmas #1 barely any acts decided to release anything to compete? I really disliked this song and still do

03 (2) Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This

04 (3) Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor

06 (7) S Club 7 - Have You Ever Reclimbing in Xmas week? A stocking filler of the time perhaps?

07 (5) Ian Van Dahl - Will I

10. (10) Hermes House Band - Country Roads

1996;

01. (-) Spice Girls - 2 Become 1 Gorgeous song, the finest of their Xmas #1's but I loved the other two as well, ballads were definitely their strong point and how many girl bands can say that?

03. (-) Madonna - Don't Cry For Me Argentina

05. (3) Robert Miles feat Maria Nayler - One & One Love that this was top five for Xmas!

06. (4) Boyzone - A Different Beat

10. (11) The Beautiful South - Don't Marry Her

Check out my 2001 retro christmas chart for the full christmas top 40!!

Agree that 2 Become 1 is one of Spice Girls' finest moments.

Yeh a christmas classic for me even if it wasnt a song about christmas!!

Newsbeat? :angry:
The newsbeat team must want to get their xmas dinner lol!!

I'm not actually listening so I'll just post the recaps based on Radio 1's page updating.

Yes at Slade holding on in the top 40 :cheer: Seems to have kicked 'The A Team' out at the last second unfortunately but I'm sure that'll be back with a bang next week with the gift card effect, TOTP and all the Xmas/campaign songs vanishing!

40 Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody

Really :o They were mid 50's all week. I know the Christmas song all rised a lot by today but I was expecting Slade to be just outside if anywhere. Anyway glad to hear them still top 40 :D

39 Jason Derulo - Fight For You

Wonder if without the 59p effect most of these could have hovered between 41-60 like last year?

Wonder how high The Pogues ended up.Wonder if you could say that Wizzard is more popular than Slade after all these years even tho slade won the original battle??
