In what way is that an invalid argument? A price reduction is a massive advantage.

It's just another way to market a product. In that sense all public appearances, heavy airplay or video rotation are unfair because *gasp* someone might buy a song after seeing it being performed. It's same with the pricing. Have you ever bought something because it's cheaper than the product next to it?

Charts are full of different marketing tactics.

It's back in the top 3 on iTunes now so I think it'll climb this week. It was cool while it lasted

It would be great to see Dominick The Donkey go top 3! It just has to do it  it's the only campaign song this year that is to do with Christmas so it deserves it

Fair point. I amend that to 'only because it had the advantage of having a price reduction The Pogues didn't get' in that case :P

And I tend to think that pricing only doesn't really make the song desirable.

(Oh how I wish all songs by The Smiths were being sold very cheap and going top 40 only because of that)

Shame Paradise didn't manage to overtake Forever Yours but now it's #1 on iTunes again (:D) it should be right back in the top 3 this week if not top 2!

Need some diving equipment to catch it?

Along with the X-Factor finalists single as well?
