January 1, 201214 yr Anyway, not like I wasn't expecting it, but disappointed to see Coldplay's album fall to #3. Hope they sold enough to pass 900k this week anyway. 1-15 isn't as big a drop as I was expecting for Bublé, but I did think it was odd that people were suggesting it would stay top 5 or even #1. Out of the top 40 next week I reckon. Nice chart run for '+' :P Good to see it getting a second week at #1, it'd be good for it to hold on for a few more weeks. Definitely looking good for it to pass the million :D I still think it would've done far better had Lego House been the second single though. Edited January 1, 201214 yr by Coldbray

As well as this, his debut single 'Just The Way You Are' went straight to Number 1 in the UK charts and has now sold over 600,000 since its release and so far is the second highest selling single of the year – a feat that is hard to come by these days for new artists. All three singles combined, including the No. 1 smash hit 'Nothin on You' with B.o.B and 'Billionaire' with Travie McCoy have not only marked Bruno as a credible and versatile up-and-coming artist but have totalled over 1.3 million sales to date! Having spent the past few years writing and co-writing songs for the likes of Flo Rida, Travie McCoy, Sugababes, Alexandra Burke and B.o.B, Bruno is now stepping out as an artist in his own right and if the success of Just The Way You Are is anything to go by...this Hawaiian native, now based in L.A, is set to take on the world. - HMV Track Listing 1. January 1, 201214 yr Pleasing to see that my suspicions about Ed Sheeran getting the first #1 album of 2012 were correct, it definitely seems like the sort of thing that teenage girls might have been hoping for for Xmas but didn't get and thus went and bought this week, likewise Bruno Mars and his climb back into the top two. Of course these two albums have far wider appeal than that too, hence them being so much higher than all of the boyband albums.

Although I wasn't one of these people, I can get where they were coming from because iirc, the same people suggesting this were also expecting it to get a price cut, which probably would have been the sensible thing for shops to do  It would have been far easier to shift had it been sold at that price, people would have bought it ready for the following year perhaps. As it was, I saw it still full price everywhere so it was never going to maintain a place in the top ten.

Ignoring the elephant in HMV :kink: Nah, I'm sure your reasoning is a part of it, but I don't think either of these albums would be so high if they were still full price. Great to see Katy getting another new peak, a nice slow-burner :D
January 1, 201214 yr Do people think they should play an entire song from the #1 album rather than small clips of some of the songs? Although that would've been a problem with Adele's song, since they'd've got through the whole album during its #1 run probably. But in general it would work. Looks like The One That Got Away will be the first Katy Perry song in years to miss #1 in the US.
January 1, 201214 yr Do people think they should play an entire song from the #1 album rather than small clips of some of the songs? That wouldn't be a bad idea :D

Great to see Katy getting another new peak, a nice slow-burner :D Ed's album wasn't VASTLY reduced, only to the same price or even dearer than I saw all of JLS, The Wanted and One Direction's albums at! Fair point about Bruno though, I know they were selling that for a fiver.
January 1, 201214 yr Do people think they should play an entire song from the #1 album rather than small clips of some of the songs? No. In fact I'd rather they got rid of the album chart countdown in the middle of the singles altogether.
