The One That Got Away has done amazingly well for a sixth single. It's rare that 6th singles chart that well in the UK. Even Rihanna wouldn't be able to get 6 top 20 singles from one album (or 5 top 10 singles.)

No. In fact I'd rather they got rid of the album chart countdown in the middle of the singles altogether.

I would hate that - why would you want rid of the albums? It is great it is in a stable place and it makes sense to do the top 5 albums after 40-21.

Do people think they should play an entire song from the #1 album rather than small clips of some of the songs?

 

we've had this discussion before, but yes - a future single preferably, would be pretty good promo for them too

The One That Got Away has a whole new meaning for me now, with her and Russell divorcing, the song makes me really sad because of how appropriate it feels. :wub:

Pleased to see The A Team back in the top 20 :wub: Even though it was never massively high on iTunes, I'm certain that when the top 75's are announced later that You Need Me, I Don't Need You will be back somewhere around the top 50 area...

Although I wasn't one of these people, I can get where they were coming from because iirc, the same people suggesting this were also expecting it to get a price cut, which probably would have been the sensible thing for shops to do :lol: It would have been far easier to shift had it been sold at that price, people would have bought it ready for the following year perhaps. As it was, I saw it still full price everywhere so it was never going to maintain a place in the top ten.

I assume the huge sales in the week before Christmas meant that the shops weren't left with massive stocks to get rid of.

Because I've absolutely no interest in the album chart. If they've got to play it at this time, play it at the start so 4:00-4:15 or so is always albums and 4:15-7:00 is singles, or something like that. Even better would be to give the album chart it's own show.

 

Anyway, not like I wasn't expecting it, but disappointed to see Coldplay's album fall to #3. Hope they sold enough to pass 900k this week anyway.

I think The One That Got Away could've got a bit higher if it had a better remix, and if they promoted it (the remix) more. I like B.o.B, but rapping doesn't go with that song at all imo.

 

Could #16 be You Da One's peak?! :o It's a shame, I think this song deserves better, but I guess a lot of the public just don't like it. :(
