I think Ed Sheeran will be around for a while, but never be as successful as he was with this era again. (But still quite successful). The likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé will still be around and successful for quite a long time to come as well, maybe Lady Gaga too but I wouldn't be that surprised if she starts to fade out of the public eye from album 3. Most of the artists in the top 40 at the moment will have vanished by 2016 though.

(How did this topic come up by the way? I've already forgotten )

I'm pretty sure Gaga's here for the long run. It's album sellers that survive the test of time, not generic 'single' artists. Yes BTW produced some underwhelming singles in terms of sales (mainly because theyre just not that mainstream), but at least shes showing progression, and her cultural impact is still undeniable.

Loon out.

Yes, but her album sales are falling drasticly. BTW has only sold 800,000, nothing like the sales for the first album.

its funny how the video release can only get you so far with post album singles....
Hope 'No Light, No Light' sees a massive rise now. I also hope the performance can get 'Ceremonials' back in the top 10 and hep it on the way to going double platinum at least (this week's sales will put it past 400k). It's a shame Ceremonials looks like it's not even going to sell half of Lungs' total :(
I think Kiss The Stars is starting to grow on me now :( I know I really shouldn't like it, but I can't help it

But Lungs is Florences career defining album imo, she will do well to ever beat the sales of it...so many great singles from it even though many didnt peak high they definately boosted the album!!

I like the song and i agree with you about the video featuring James Cordon.I find the bloke irritating at the best of time LOL

I like the song and I really like the video until they let James Cordon into the room to dance with that roll of fat round his neck yuck :puke2: I notice he makes straight for the nosh on the table and starts feeding his face when the song ends too.

Suprised the top 10 effect hasnt done much for Beyonce. She's in danger of dropping back out now!!

I know. It's such a shame.

Only 10 minutes until i can finally buy Antidote at last...benn waiting about a month now...why cant OA/OS come back for ALL records!!

I think that the problem is the timing of Beyonce getting into the top 10. As it's the weekend, there are a lot of other songs gaining momentum from the weekend effect, so her top 10 effect isn't really as strong. I love the song so much, so I will be gutted if it drops out so soon after getting in.

Good to see this already doing well.

The music video premiered only recently so it should climb a lot soon.

The video is really good and the song isn't bad either. Far better than 'Gotta Be You'. Nowhere near as good as 'What Makes You Beautiful'.

The One Thing video has over 2 million views in 24 hours. :)

Why has Beautiful People climbed so much?

I just saw an advert for Gotye on Youtube! :o

I hope that 'antidote' can do well. I'm expecting it to go top 5, although higher would be nice. :D
I'm a bit late to join in on the conversation but anyway, Gaga will become a huge seller again so easily. Seriously. Born This Way is simply the Body Language to The Fame (Monster)'s Fever. Uncommercial and poorly managed to boot. The Fame Monster sound strikes me as her best option going forward. She needs to go pop and anything like The Fame is too far in that direction. There's so little chance of her ever going away. Really. She loves music, she can't stop writing. And she's incredibly wealthy. She could go independent if Interscope somehow drop her. And in any case, even if the general public does tire of her she's got the Britney-esque crazed fanbase to send her albums to #1 and sell millions anyway. She's smart, she'll know what's needed to sell and if she wants to stay relevant she will. Every big female around right now will still be here in 2016. They are the album sellers right now and a male-pop revolution likely isn't coming any time soon. Women will continue to dominate. Basically anyone who can shift albums will likely be here. Anyone who can't won't.
