Swedish House Mafia down to #9 :( I really hope they stay top 10 on iTunes and start reclinbing a bit when the weekend effect is over...

 92 Nicki Minaj - Stupid Hoe

Woo! Keep climbing Nicki!!

Bloody HELL at Cover Drive. Would have been interesting to see where they were by now if it was 99p, I'd think it might just be entering the top 10 now. Would still have been ahead of Lana but she's got EP sales on her side and is still well ahead of where "Video Games" was at this stage so it would have been a far more even fight.

Cover Drive's EP is higher than Lana's at the moment :( (13 and 16 respectively). Although Redlight's is higher than both (11) at the moment.

WOW! :o that's fantastic for cover drive! wasn't expecting them to be this high so early, was more expecting them to be just outside the top 10 at this point and climbing up through the week.

Cover Drive owe Capital FM a huge thanks they have been playing Twilight every 10 minutes it seems.

Good for them hope they get to No 1.

Hmm, I knew everyone was overestimating Lana, its just not the sort of song that sounds like a number 1 to me, that said I wasn't expecting Cover Drive to be doing this well either :o although it is fast ingrating itself into my head :drama: I still think Flo Rida will put up more of a challenge as it keeps climbing

Eurgh WTF at Minaj so high..I hate her now after making my ears bleed..I honestly feel like Chucking Pink Friday in the bin.

Stupid Hoe isn't Nicki's best song, but it's still good imo. Better than most of the top 100.

I don't think Flo Rida is going to peak this week. The song has been held back a bit, but it's still been released quite "early", in a similar way to Price Tag and We Found Love. I think it's a likely contender for #1 sometime in February.

Has 'Stupid Hoe' only just been released? If not why is it suddenly taking off now?

If it goes top 100 officially it'll be her 15th top 100 hit as a credited artist in less than one and a half years :o

Anyone else think Roll Deep are officially over now..??

I really can't see them getting any radio play now..shame as they did have some good hits.

It was released a couple of weeks ago, but the video just came out. I'm guessing that's why it's climbing. It's only a buzz single though (same as Roman In Moscow), the first official single is called Va Va Voom and hits radio in the US on (I think) 7th Feb.

I love how Lana is underperforming (so far). People on here are always so smug and were predicting her to be #1 weeks ago and saying the song would be huge and that Cover Drive would "maybe" to gop ten. Just shows that nothing is for certain and it's foolish to make assumptions about songs before they're even released. I actually hope Lana flops because I think she's completely over rated and don't get the appeal at all, plus she can't sing live to save herself.

I said all along that I couldn't see Lana going to #1. ^_^ But then I thought Cover Drive would stall outside the top 10... -_-

I can see Flo Rida being number one this week though. I think he'll come out of nowhere and rapidly climb to the top in the next few days.

It'd be nice to have a shock number one though. Everyone was so sure of themselves and assumed it was a foregone conclusion. 'Twilight' isn't a great song though. I'd have preferred a Kelly Clarkson shaped shock. :kink:

That girl from Cover Drive actually seems to be a better live singer than Lana Del Rey!!

Personally, I am one of those ones that was all "smug" saying Lana would get #1. Well, I wasn't 100% sure, but I thought it was likely. I'm glad that I'm looking to be wrong and it's turning out this way though.

That said, I also think back to T-Pain, when he got off to that ridiculously slow start on Sunday, and everyone was like "Yay! Glad to see he's flopping, that song is atrocious", and then a couple of days later he was at #1 on iTunes. So, I think we should wait a few more days before being 100% sure that Lana is under-performing. Not to mention, the song has been held back, but it could still climb over the weeks, as that's happened before numerous times.

Amen aint that the TRUTH.

Although her fans attribute her poor live vocals to nerves, bad wigs, too much on her mind etc

No-one was really exactly 'smug' that Lana was going to be number 1, it was no different than any other predictions  Anyway, as Eric said, T-Pain was 'flopping' (relatively) at this point and he ended up number 1 on iTunes so we can't be too sure right now!
