She clearly is a nervous person though. You can tell by her body language when she performs.

 

She's not the best technical singer but she's never been marketed as one. She's seen as a 21st Century Nancy Sinatra - and she didn't exactly have amazing vocals. I'm not trying to antagonise anyone and I'm not exactly a Lana fan but it is ridiculous to say she deserves to flop because she's a "terrible live singer" when the likes of The Saturdays aren't exactly brilliant in that area. Double standards much?

I was one of those who suspected Lana wouldn't get the #1, and always thought that Cover Drive might end up doing better, however I've made some incorrect predictions before, we ALL have. I disagree I prefer a vocalist who is better live than how they sound on the record.

Why would I pay money to see someone live knowing they are crap and cannot cut it.

I saw The Saturdays live for the first time two weeks ago and they are actually good live.

 

the only ones that come across as 'smug' are those who laugh at those who merely predicted wrongly, I didn't think Lana would go to number 1, but I don't think anyone was smug about it , its a reasonable assumption to make :unsure:

So great to see Cover Drive doing so well! Was not expecting them to be that high already.

 

Lana off with a pretty slow start, hope it will pick up soon! Born To Die is amazing. And I disagree with some of the comments about her voice. Yes, she has done some rather bad performances (especially at Jonathan Ross) but which artists hasn't done that? I've heard that she is a lot better from people who went to see her at a gig. And I've seen some performances myself aswell in which she sounded great.

When I first saw the video, I did think it would get a lot of dislikes though. There's many reasons I can think of why people wouldn't like it. Even the Super Bass video has a lot of dislikes (compared to most music videos).

 

I love the song overall though. Apart from the singing section. I don't mind Nicki singing, but it sounds wrong to hear her singing over a bunch of weird clapping noises or whatever. They should've added more to the instrumental for that part, or just did another rap verse.

I wish people would stop using The Saturdays as an example of people who can't sing live, cause they definitely can, as I've seen them live. As much as I like Lana, The Sats are better live than she is, but I'm sure it's just down to nerves or whatever.

Basically, Lana was rubbish on Saturday Night Live, and made practically any singer look decent :lol:

'Stupid Hoe' is crap!!! :lol: I got as far 1:07 into the video before deciding I'd heard enough. I only kept the video going for that long because I was AGOG at the visuals. :D

Stupid Hoe has to be one of the worst songs I have heard in years!
