So looks like we COULD be on for our lowest selling weekly No 1 album certainly of this century- Current Holder, The Doves- "The Last Broadcast"- 22,437, could be a poisoned chalice for whoever gets it!

What was that at the end of Cher Lloyd's new track

You mean the "Do I sound like a helicopter? *makes sound which doesn't sound anything like a helicopter*" bit? :P

Wasn't it "The Last Broadcast"? "Some Cities" fell from #1 to #14 which was probably the record at the time before Ellie Goulding, that might have been what you were thinking of.

Sorry- You're right for some reason I put the wrong album- yes "The Last Broadcast" it was

I think it was the most cringeworthy thing I've seen on TV  WTF is that about? :puke2:

Yay for Kelly Clarkson! Crazy to think this is only the second album of hers to have a shot at a second top ten single off the same album.

Stronger by Kelly Clarkson is now upto no7 on itunes so looking good for a top10 climber by the weekend.

Same! :D I really like the song, but if anyone else is in the room when it finishes, I MUST think of something to distract them from it!

Official chart company

Enter Shikari still leading the race to Number 1

20/01/2012

By Dan Lane

According to the latest Official Charts Company sales data, Enter Shikari’s third studio album, ‘A Flash Flood of Colour’, is still in the lead in the race to the top of this week’s Official Albums Chart. Should the band’s latest release go to Number 1 this Sunday, it will give the give the St Albans rockers’ their highest ever chart placing.

While Enter Shikari have remained in pole position in every sales flash this week, as we move into the weekend there is still everything to play for.

Spurred on by his four BRIT Awards nominations, Ed Sheeran’s former Number 1 album, ‘+’ (2) is fast closing the gap on Shikari; just 2,500 copies currently separate this week’s candidates for Number 1 and Number 2.

Fellow BRIT nominees Adele (with ‘21’), Bruno Mars (with ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’) and Coldplay (with ‘Mylo Xyloto’) complete today’s Top 5 contenders.

Make sure you’re following @officialcharts on Twitter to find out the final outcome of this latest chart battle on Sunday.

Midweek Charts update: Florence heading back to Top 10

Source: MW

11:08 | Friday January 20, 2012

By Paul Williams

Florence + The Machine’s performance on Jonathan Ross’s chat show is set to return their album Ceremonials to the UK Top 10 this weekend after a two-month absence.

Sales of the Island-issued title have risen 49% week-on-week following the performance on the ITV1 programme of No Light, No Light a weekend ago. This has resulted in lifting the album 21-8 on midweek sales, according to the Official Charts Company.

Enter Shikari’s Ambush Reality album A Flash Flood Of Colour remains at number one for the week to date, although its lead has nearly been halved since the start of the week by both Asylum/Atlantic act Ed Sheeran’s + and XL’s Adele album 21, which are currently the second and third biggest artist album sellers of the week.

On singles Island/Lava’s Jessie J looks like securing a second week at the top with Domino, which by the end of trading on Thursday was around 9,000 sales ahead of the newly-issued Virgin single Antidote by Swedish House Mafia featuring Knife Party. If this remains in second place by the time the final chart is published on Sunday it will become the Swedes’ highest-charting single yet, beating the number three peak of One. Close behind it in third spot are Island act Rizzle Kicks’ Mama Do The Hump.

Jessie J 9k ahead of Rizzle Kicks, she seems to be safe for a second week, sales must be very low all round, looks like Enter Shikari could actually hold on, if I'm reading the third paragraph right from the report.
