January 31, 201213 yr I know GaGa is still relatively new in the industry (been around 3 or 4 years) but I'm struggling between whether Poker Face, Bad Romance or Born this Way for her signature hit? Poker Face, 100% without a doubt. Its not the track that the GaGa fans would pick, but I bet 99% of the population know that song and I wouldn't be confident that would be the case for any of her other tracks.

I'd say "Bad Romance" was a more obvious candidate, the video makes even more iconic and well-known IMO.

January 31, 201213 yr Although it sold less than Poker Face I would vote for Bad Romance too... gaga oh lala, anyone could remember that. Yes people remember the gibberish, but do they associate it with "Bad Romance" though? Edited January 31, 201213 yr by fchd
January 31, 201213 yr Some to ponder? Ash - Girl From Mars Feeder - Buck Rogers (or maybe Just A Day) I don't think anything else in either's back catalogue comes close to the 'signature' levels of these! Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars (unfortunately) Avril Lavigne - Complicated Kaiser Cheifs - I Predict A Riot (I think Ruby is more like the higher peaking, less recognised - long term - song) Mika - Happy Ending The Feeling - Fill My Little World Stereophonics - Bartender And The Theif (It seems to be the only song I hear by them these days, even more than Handbags etc.) Travis - Why Does It Always Rain On Me? The Steets - You're Fit... (don't remember the exact title but hear it alot more than any of their other songs!) No Doubt - Don't Speak Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love? (I have every confidence this also would have hit a millon given similar 'market conditions' (better sales in general, unlimited supply) as I Gotta Feeling... Time will tell I guess!)

January 31, 201213 yr Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape Jay-Z - 99 Problems Oasis - Wonderwall Steps - Tragedy
January 31, 201213 yr Alicia Keys - No One This is the worst suggestion so far. Fallin' says hello. Edited January 31, 201213 yr by ▲▲▲
January 31, 201213 yr As much as I love 'Fallin', I think as far as the UK are concerned, Alicia Keys' "signature hit" would be 'Empire State Of Mind'.
January 31, 201213 yr As much as I love 'Fallin', I think as far as the UK are concerned, Alicia Keys' "signature hit" would be 'Empire State Of Mind'. There wouldn't be an Alicia Keys without 'Fallin' though. Perhaps I am just too old now and forget about the "new generation", but 'Empire State of Mind' just makes me think of Jay-Z. You still can't watch The X Factor/American Idol etc without someone attempting to sing 'Fallin' despite it being released ten years ago. Pretty sure it was the biggest song on radio ever until last year, too? Non? In the US anyway.
February 1, 201213 yr I think most people now associate Empire State of Mind with Alicia Keys tbh (at least in the UK). But at the same time, I agree it isn't her signature hit. It's surely Fallin' or No One imo.
February 1, 201213 yr For me, Britney has three signature hits: Hit Me... Baby One More Time Toxic Womanizer
February 1, 201213 yr Some to ponder? Ash - Girl From Mars Feeder - Buck Rogers (or maybe Just A Day) I'd go with Buck Rogers for Feeer, but Ash I'd say Burn Baby Burn is better remembered that GFM. A few more off the top of my head (sorry if they been previously mentioned): Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O Mine Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy, Hey Girl Outkast - Hey Ya! The Kinks - You Really Got Me (Just to be totally random there  )
February 1, 201213 yr For me, Britney has three signature hits: Hit Me... Baby One More Time Toxic Womanizer "Hit Me Baby One More Time" first with "Oops I Did It Again" a distant second.

YRGM is certainly one of them along with Lola, All Day And All Of The Night, Waterloo Sunset and others.

February 1, 201213 yr I'd 100% say its Bad Romance. Poker Face is definitely second though, with maybe Just Dance behind that. Depends on the definition of Signature Hit I think though. For the fans, it definitely is Bad Romance, but as I said earlier I bet most people would know she sang Poker Face or could name that as a song she sings, but I don't think as many people could do the same with Bad Romance.
February 2, 201213 yr For me, Britney has three signature hits: Hit Me... Baby One More Time Toxic Womanizer Oh, as IF that mediocre 'Womanizer' thing is anywhere close to being a signature song.
February 4, 201213 yr David Bowie - Heroes / Ziggy Stardust / Ashes to Ashes Florence + The Machine - You've Got The Love Hole - Violet Kasabian - Fire Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights / Running Up That Hill Kelly Rowland - Dilemma / Stole The Kooks - Niave Nickelback - This Is How You Remind Me / Rockstar Paramore - Misery Business Taylor Swift - Love Story The Ting Tings - Thats Not My Name Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On Spice Girls - Wannabe Fergie - Big Girls Dont Cry Shakira - Hips Dont Like / Whenever Wherever The Killers - Mr. Brightside / Human Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade Kanye West - Stronger
May 13, 201312 yr Just bumping this up and  at some of the suggestions in this thread... as if The Saturdays have a signature hit. Anyway some new ones: Aqua - Barbie Girl The Mamas & The Papas - California Dreamin' Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (now THIS is an example of a new act who has already bagged a signature hit)
