Apparently, Katy will open The GRAMMYs with this in a chocolate vessel!

I personally am finding this song immense. I haven't heard the demo, which is probably what instantly made the song click with me on first listen. brilliant stuff. can't go wrong with a katy perry/dr. luke collaboration.

this situation reminds me of when I heard 'try with me' by nic scherz; I found that brilliant, whilst the majority found that average. it was also released pretty close to it's premiere so I just hope this won't do as badly as that did, although katy's success is much better than nicole's here.

I thought it was due to be released worldwide today, but it isn't on UK iTunes. :(

Worst time to release I would say, not her or her managements fault though.

Currently #07 on Usa iTunes.

Why would you say it's a bad time to release? True we have all the Whitney stuff but she performed it at the Grammys which got almost 40 million viewers, promo can't get much better than that. This time of year also seems a bit quiet when it comes to big new releases too.
It sounds like a decent pop song, but is it just me who feels a little underwhelmed? After the first 5 singles from Teenage Dream, it sounds quite average. Hopefully it's a grower and will probably sell quite well bearing in mind her break-up with Russel Brand.
Interesting the way she changed some of the lyrics to the Demo
I dont think this song is as good as some of her other stuff but its not awful.

Agree really with what you are saying. I think its a bit average compared to her other songs.

This is pretty good, but if it was one of the previous 6 singles I would've been disappointed. For a 7th single (and a song which was presumably kept off the album to begin with) it's catchy/pleasant.

That's pretty much how I feel. Well of the 7 singles(!):

01 E.T.

02 Firework

03 The One That Got Away

04 Last Friday Night

05 Teenage Dream

06 Part Of Me

07 California Gurls

-

I do still really like CG though!

I'd say;

01 Teenage Dream

02 Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

03 California Gurls

04 The One That Got Away

05 E.T.

06 Firework

07 Part Of Me

The first six singles are all amazing really ... best run of singles from one album I can remember in a long time!

I just tried to order it, but other than Firework being my #1, and California Gurls being my #2 - I genuinely can't

01 E.T

02 Firework

03 California Gurls

04 Last Friday Night

05 Part Of Me

06 Teenage Dream

07 The One That Got Away

Never really got into the bottom two but they're alright and have worked really well as singles.
