BJSC XLI has been a complete obsession of mine - and it feels so good to be finished with everything, as I can finally relax knowing you all enjoyed it :blush:

 

I can definitely relate to this feeling, it's an all consuming task in the last couple of weeks run up to the final results! It's enjoyable to do it every now and then but at the same time, the immense feeling of 'weight off the shoulders' when you pass the baton to the winning country is relief like no other :lol:

As much as I would have liked to have won with Tone of all people, I am still immensely proud that my favourite artist has finished second with what is fast becoming an all time favourite song of mine. Entering an artist you absolutely adore has it's major risks (See BJSC I - FSR Rontvia and BJSC III/X - Ashton) so it's always nice to see that other people like them and some people discover them.

 

On that note. If anyone really liked Look Back and would like to hear more by Tone Damli let me know and I'll point you in the direction of her epic's. Please do however start with my favourite song of all time, and BJSC XX's 4th placed finisher with 160 points:

Sorry Mr*. But your track was my only 7/10, I liked EVERY other song in the final more. :( (Though tbf, a 7/10 is nothing to be sniffed at, as can be seen in my chart this week, this was probably the strongest final I have witnessed yet! :o) Congrats at the victory though, I have no doubt - should you decide to host - that XLII will also be fabulous. :wub:

Tone has so many highlights that haven't made it into BJSC for whatever reason - No Way Out, Crazy Cool, Stuck In My Head, Pick It Up, I could go on...

To be completely honest, though. It wasn't until the last couple of votes where I realized Fljótavík was the winner. I tried making the presentation as exciting as possible just in case any of you (or Numayania, FSR Rontvia or Unovia) was going to win it. It wasn't my intention to delay a Tone 2nd place :(

The government of Ashton haven't advised your embassy staff to leave for their own safety, so you might just get away with it :P

This is actually getting TOO MUCH now. I'm either facing a crushing defeat after allowing myself to get a bit excited about the prospect of a first victory (you always try to not allow the results tactics to work but then they always do!) or I'm facing a declaration of war from Ashton over the next few months.

 

To be honest not really any of the songs were "MY THING" besides School of Seven Bells but I also got to just let go and base everything off catchiness. It's sorta fun to get in BJSC mode again. (:

 

That Ashton song was pretty catchy. Why is everyone surprised lololol. It's not like this contest was overflowing w/ indie songs, I had to go pop :~o

Phew!!! just made it into the final, if Persphonia have voted most likely I would have missed, thank you for not voting Persphonia

Was always going to be Ashton blitzing semi 1, pleased that I managed 2nd in the semi and 3rd overall, 28 voters out of a possible 42 is immense, exactly two thirds put Flares into their top ten :wub:

 

Semi 2 really dominated the final overall, which is pleasing as it was far better aside from a small clutch of great entries in Semi 1.
