You'll be pleased to know that Euphoria is actually growing on me. My car stereo must contain crack or something, but it actually sounds rather good in the car.

 

Hoorah, I'm no Loreen stan and I've made my feelings on her previous 'very good but not life enhancing' singles well known, however with Euphoria it was first listen love and it somehow still continues to get better with each listen five weeks in.

 

ABOUT TIME! I've been spending every night of the last few weeks turning off all lights, whacking in the Skull Candys, blasting up the volume and feeling TRANSCENDENTAL *.*

 

The instrumental is glorious for that. The karaoke version is good for a singalong when backing vocals are required. The main version is good for soundtracking every other occasion.

Well let's face it inflation would be either immediately defeated or EXPLODE were the British population made aware of Euphoria, either through satisfying everyone enough that they NEVER NEED ANOTHER WAGE RISE AGAIN (assuming increasing input costs for commodities do not occur ~) or through leading to such DEMAND for immediate holidays to Sweden for all that EVERYONE REQUIRES ONE and then FLIGHT COSTS go up and then the ECONOMY COLLAPSES/PROLAPSES *.*

I somehow didn't GET Euphoria properly until this week. I loved it as much as I would any normal song that I loved, and then suddenly it gets taken to a whole other level. It's weird and amazing at the same time.

 

Now I have to have it on repeat, and I feel like an addict. :lol:

I couldn't say :lol: The longest so far is 12 weeks for Delta's Believe Again and DJ Sammy's Heaven. It would do well to get anywhere near those, although my level of obsession is reaching similar heights to those which I had for those two songs so who knows!?! Usually a song builds up a long run and then stops at 8-10 weeks when something else amazing comes out of the blue.

Care to name some examples of this 'relentless' negativity? Loreen seems to be the only example and that's as much down to you being blinded with your love for it.

I have often noticed your passion for any song capable of depicting/expressing/being "hot mess" in some way. Recent example coming from Svetlana Loboda. May I ask you; because I'm not a native english speaker and to me, the word 'mess' seems like a bad thing. Like something out of order, cluttery, poorly made etc. Yet you seem to love it so greatly. I THINK I understand what you mean in that it's supposed to be/play out that way and achieves it so well, but sometimes I wonder if you mean it in a good way or a bad way. Like now. Not sure what my question is, though, but would you mind elaborate your definition of 'mess'?

This is a PERFECT way of describing what kind of effect 'Euphoria' has. There is something purely euphoric about every second of that chorus, and I'm just honestly waiting for it to appear when I'm listening to the verses, although lately I've realised how important it is to have everything else so low key, as that does hugely empower the glorious transcending of the chorus! :wub:

Oh right - a mess IS something that's bad, but a 'hot mess' specifically is something that's clearly got things going for it but is sort of really trashy, wrong or bizarre at the same time. It's sort of similar to the phrase 'so bad it's good', but not quite. Like, another example could be slightly more literal - someone who's clearly ridiculously attractive stumbling around ridiculously drunk, or whatever. But yeah, in the case of Svetlana, it's supposed to be ridiculously trashy and it pulls it off fantastically *.*
