First record I ever bought was The Police - Message In A Bottle, and a freebie came with it, Top 40 chart of that week, that's how I got addicted to the charts.

August 7, 200618 yr In 1996 I bought my single which was Spice Girls - 2 Become 1 and my first proper album the year after that Spice Girls - Spice World but I wasn't that interested until 1999 when I listened to check if S Club 7 were #1 with S Club Party  which they weren't but ever since then that I became an addict but I was interested a little since I first started watching Top Of The Pops every week in about 1992.
August 7, 200618 yr Well i first started following the charts in 1986. I can remember at the start of the year listening to the Next Week's chart show on Radio Luxembourg on my walkman. This was on a Monday evening and the presenter was Mike Hollis who is now on Saga 105.7 FM. Then i got into the R1 chart show with Bruno Brookes, and started recording the shows, unfortunately i no longer have my early recordings which is a shame. My earliest recording is a chart from 1987. I have one from Feb/March 88 too. Anyway from then i on i never missed a chart show and became a addicted, although for some strange reason i only started writing the chart down from the start of 1989, which is quite surprising. I was pleased to purchase the book of top 40 charts later where it had every single UK Top 40 from 1960 to the end of 1991 which was quite awesome to have.
August 7, 200618 yr My first single was Benni Benassi's 'Satisfaction', but I didn't truely get into the charts until September 2004 when bored on Sundays. I've been hooked ever since!
August 7, 200618 yr First chart I ever listened to was the old Pepsi Chart, when DJ Otzi was No.1. I was hooked after that, and I started compiling my personal chart finally in Jan this year.
