It looks like this is starting to impact. It's not as good as the previous two singles. I expect it will go Top 30 - can't see it going higher!

 

He was performing on Graham Norton last night so that has probably given the song a boost.Whos on Wossy tonight?

 

So what are tonights new releases - Elephant and what else? I think Alexandra Burke will be no1 next Sunday as i think Gotye will be down to 75-80k this week and 70k next week. Elephant could do 80 in its first week!!

Something tells me 'Elephant' won't be #1 and sell 80k. It hasn't been playlisted on any of the major radio stations (Radio 1, Capital, Heart...) and it's been held back forever which suggests it will be mega-frontloaded.

I can't see Alexandra being #1. Usually, you need lots of radio airplay to be #1, and she hasn't had much.

 

I don't really like her song, but I wouldn't mind it getting to #1, as Gotye has been there for ages, and it would be funny to see more melt-downs, etc. :lol:

 

Maybe Jay-Z and Kanye can get in the top 10 if/when StooShe fall out.

I can see 'Ill Manors' possibly being the biggest single of the year in terms of impact and attention. Definite #1 potential. I just feel it's going to be MASSIVE.

No, Capital haven't played Elephant very much. Infact, Radio 1 have probably played it more than Capital. :lol:

 

I agree, it seems like the sort of thing Capital would like. Maybe they're not playing it because The Silence didn't do that well.

I'm quite surprised radio doesn't support Alexandra. Her songs seem quite radio friendly, but it must be a personal thing or something :lol:

She still has a strong chance of getting #1, but it will more likely 'do a Dappy'.

 

Glad to see Marcus out of the top 10, even if it is Domino reentering :drama:

New releases do tend to be unexpectedly high on their release week (probably because of EPs, etc.), especially when they're lower down the chart.

 

But I really can't see even Dot Rotten making the top 40 unfortunately. :(

Not yet, it's apparently being released pretty soon, though.

 

He built up quite a fanbase with the Strickland Banks era and he always gets tons of radio support. Throw in the lyrical content and the fact it's been consistently high on pre-orders for weeks now and i'd say there's no way it isn't going to match the success of 'She Said'.

ill Manners is awesome but it's no where near as radio friendly as She Said I'd love to see it do well but i don't really seeing it being a big chart hit.
