I got Chiddy Bang at #8 with Breakfast in the singles chart

Gregs messed up today lol - the update on the radio 1 website has Meatloaf at no14 on the singles chart - they must have the albums mixed in between haha.

Annoying the way Paris is falling one and alot of other new entries and risers stall because of the established songs!

Yeah same, but looking at some of the others the website seems a bit messed up.

Not really, because the Tuesday update is always unreliable, it always was when we had full Tue mids too. (missing data, some new entires appeared twice in the chart etc)

yep with 0 weeks for a lot of tracks in the upper end. I wonder if they put Nicki Minaj at #1 by mistake. :heehee:

I thought Marcus would have decreased to 7 or 8. I'm surprised he's at no.6 still due to him decreasing on iTunes.

He's got physicals out, that must have a boost on his position.

OMG now I have last week's chart update after I refreshed the page

Midweek Charts: Springsteen looking to Boss albums

Source: MW

15:50 | Wednesday March 7, 2012

By Paul Williams

Bruce Springsteen is bidding to hold off a challenge from Christmas chart-toppers the Military Wives and become only the 10th act in history to score nine number ones on the UK albums chart.

His brand new Columbia album Wrecking Ball has opened up a lead of around 16,000 sales, according to the Official Charts Company. However, it is facing a strong challenge from In My Dreams, the first album from Decca signings the Military Wives who famously led last year’s festive singles chart with Wherever You Are alongside choirmaster Gareth Malone.

If Wrecking Ball does remain at one when the final chart is published on Sunday it will become Springsteen’s ninth number one on the chart, a feat only previously achieved by The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, U2, Abba, Michael Jackson, Queen and Robbie Williams.

Springsteen and the Military Wives lead a busy week for new albums with 12 cropping up among the Top 40 positions in the latest Sales Flashes. They include Dramatico act Katie Melua whose fifth studio album Secret Symphony is currently ranked fifth and Lionel Richie whose country-flavoured Mercury album Tuskegee is eighth, helped by him chatting and performing on Jonathan Ross’s ITV1 show last Saturday.

Among the other new entries is a new Union Square-issued Gilbert O’Sullivan best of at 16, potentially returning him to the Top 20 for the first time in eight years, and RCA’s Dry The River in 14h place with Shallow Red. Other new albums showing up come from acts including Sinead O’Connor with her One Little Indian debut How About I Be Me (And You Be Me) at 23, while other arrivals take in Little Demon’s Justin Fletcher, double Grammy-winning Civil Wars with the Columbia-issued Barton Hollow, a Stranglers album through Coursegood, The Fray via Columbia and Regal/Parlophone’s Chiddy Bang.

Within the Top 10 Virgin act Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events and XL’s Adele album 21, which were one and two on last Sunday’s chart, are the third and fourth top sellers respectively in the new week so far, while Asylum/Atlantic’s Ed Sheeran set + has drifted 3-6 and Polydor’s Lana Del Rey debut Born To Die 4-7. Parlophone act Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto has moved 6-10 in the week so far and Island act Gotye’s Making Mirrors slips 6-10.

Just outside the Top 10, Chris Issak’s Rhino album Beyond The Sun leaps 30-11 following his performance on BBC1’s Let’s Dance For Sport Relief.

On singles Island signing Gotye featuring Kimbra’s Somebody That I Used To Know is around 5,000 sales ahead in its quest to be number one for a fourth week. Behind it is Virgin’s Emeli Sande with Next To Me, which moves 3-2, while Cash Money/Island’s Nicki Minaj progresses 5-3 in the week to date with Starships as the Atlantic-issued Wild Ones by Flo Rida featuring Sia holds at four.

Warner Bros’s new girl group Stooshe lead the new entries with Love Me, featuring Travie McCoy, in fifth place, while X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins’ first single, the RCA-issued White Stripes cover Seven Nation Army, is debuting at six. Also showing up as a brand new entry in the Top 10 is Island release Bright Lights by Tinchy Stryder featuring Pixie Lott.

HA, Tinchy is all over the place  every album entry is Tinchy Stryder

Guys just use the OCC links the full charts are on there as well as back up.

Dot Rotten at 32, at 44 on iTunes still so he'll probably cling onto the edge of the top 40 by Sunday.

Springsteen has a 16k lead. If it was over Adele I'd be worried but I'm guessing that the Military Wives will have been frontloaded as well and will only really start to eat into his lead over the weekend. Hopefully he's far enough ahead to hold on.

It's weird how it's done that for 11 of the new entries, but not for one of them!

The other one isn't actually a new entry which is probably why. I'm more baffled as to why 'Starships' is there instead of both 'Our Version Of Events' and whatever #10 is (the normal shoddy MW report gives that position for both Coldplay and Gotye). What a kerfuffle.
