Glad to see 'Proud' back in the top 10. Boo at Niggas In Paris failing to climb to #9 in time and being back down to #11 though. <_<

94. New York - Snow Patrol

Performed on Sport Relief earlier. It sounded okay but not as good as Called Out In The Dark (well, that's by far my fave by them so hard to beat) and This Isn't Everything You Are.

So yeah, favourite songs:

Spaceman - The Killers (I like Mr. Brightside, but not as much as this)

Unfaithful - Rihanna

Fireflies - Owl City

Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz

My Happy Ending - Avril Lavigne

And Happiness is moving up there too, probably #6. The rest of my top 100 has changed a LOT since I did my thread though. I think, I only have a rough idea of it though...

And 3 of them are in the top 1000 now: #843, #572 and #852 (yay, people still buy good songs). Fireflies is always quite stable, Feel Good Inc comes in and out occasionally, and Unfaithful is generally around too. No, I don't check them THAT often.

Off the top of my head, a few songs that are probably somewhere up there with my favourites of all time (but it's a VERY long list which I could never order and would include the majority of The Prodigy's discography because I'm just a loon like that):

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (to get the obvious one out of the way first :D)

Toto - Africa

Bonde Do Rolê - Solta O Frango (bit of a random one I know but I consider this to be potentially my favourite song of the 00s, if I had a personal chart in 2007 this would have been #1 for months on end)

Biffy Clyro - Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies

Biffy Clyro - The Captain (I'm probably alone but this is by far my favourite off Only Revolutions)

Pendulum - Propane Nightmares

Pendulum - Watercolour

Pendulum feat. Liam Howlett - Immunize (slightly heavily biased from the link to The Prodigy but I genuinely do love this enough as a song for it to be on here)

Coldplay - quite a few (Viva La Vida, Fix You, The Scientist, Speed Of Sound, In My Place, Clocks)

Example - Stay Awake

U2 - Vertigo

My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade (will always have a special place for me as the song that first got me even remotely interested in music)

Sub Focus - Rock It

Chase & Status feat. Liam Bailey - Blind Faith

Chase & Status feat. Plan B - End Credits

Plan B - ill Manors (perhaps a bit too early to include this but it's rapidly heading this way)

System Of A Down - Chop Suey!

Serj Tankian - Empty Walls (similar to Welcome To The Black Parade above, although this one is a bit more 'obscure' being a #78 SMASH)

Young Knives - Turn Tail

Sigur Rós - Hoppípolla

Kanye West feat. Pusha T - Runaway

Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger

Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy

Madonna - Frozen

Nero - Guilt

Swedish House Mafia feat. Pharrell - One (Your Name)

Swedish House Mafia vs. Tinie Tempah - Miami 2 Ibiza

The Bravery - An Honest Mistake

The Killers - Mr. Brightside (as mentioned above) + several others (Somebody Told Me, Smile Like You Mean It, When You Were Young, Bones, Human)

Take That - Patience

I could really go on forever here, I'll just stop there so I don't bore you all TOO much

That's a rather exquisite list, had no idea you loved "Empty Walls" so much! :o

I like your list Brey but Example Stay Awake seems so odd in that list

Chase & Status feat. Liam Bailey - Blind Faith

Chase & Status feat. Plan B - End Credits

Favourite Chase & Status songs! + Heartbeat & Let You Go.

Let alone Toto?! Do you have Jason Derulo to thank for that one?

I noticed Let Me Love You is back in the top 200 on iTunes (this would probably be in my all-time top 200 in real life). Has it been discounted or something? Such a beautiful song.

I'd be surprised if Jason Derulo's version would make anyone like the song. It's awful (as in Jason Derulo's song is awful, the original isn't bad).

Chasing Cars being sung now on Sports Relief.

Snow Patrol just performed Chasing Cars on Sports Relief, I hope it can go top 100 on iTunes.

I would say some of my favourite songs are, In No Order.

The Calling - Wherever You Will Go

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

Coldplay - Fix You

Coldplay - The Scientist

The Killers - Mr Brightside

Glee covered 'Let Me Love You' for an episode. Maybe it was that episode that was shown last night?

And Lee. The Killers & The Calling are in my top 5 of all time! I also don't get the hate for 'Chasing Cars' either. I wouldn't put it that high up ('Run' is my 3rd favourite song of all time! So they have a lot to live up to!).

The Coldplay songs though. Bleh. Boring :P

178. Pixie Lott - Kiss The Stars (This Truly has plummeted fast down the charts)

326. Pixie Lott & Pusha T - What Do You Take Me For

363. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

663. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight (This needs a discount of 59p to get past 400,000 sales imo)

750. The Saturdays - All Fired Up

800. The Saturdays - All Fired Up

986. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath

How could I forget about Run, it's also one of my favourite songs. I really love Chasing Cars, mainly because of memories. Another one of my favourite songs is Chris Brown - Forever.

Coldplay are fantastic though. Fix You is one of the greatest songs produced by them.

Can't be bothered to think of everything, here's some from the recent years

Scissor Sisters - Filthy/Gorgeous

Keane - Spiralling

Keane - Somewhere Only We Know

Hurts - Wonderful Life

Fleet Foxes - Mykonos

La Roux - In For The Kill

The Killers - Mr. Brightside

Bombay Bicycle Club - Shuffle

James Blake - Limit to Your Love

Jamie T - Sheila

Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down

Muse - Knights of Cydonia

My favorite songs - EVER!

Spice Girls - Viva Forever

The Saturdays - Missing You

Girls Aloud - Call The Shots

Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love

The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved

Leona Lewis - Run

Katy Perry - The One That Got Away

The Saturdays - All Fired Up

Take That - Never Forget

George Michael - Fast Love

Spice Girls - 2 Become 1

Girls Aloud - Memory Of You

Spice Girls - If U Can't Dance (Live)

The Saturdays - Ego

Miley Cyrus - The Climb

Destinys Child - Survivor

Melanie C - Northern Star

Coldplay - In My Place

How typical that I post a list of my favourite songs and then Chasing Cars goes and gets performed on Sport Relief...
Don't really know why it's being discussed here, but my favourite songs of all time are Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis, Firework by Katy Perry (sorry!) and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera. The former, being my favourite, and still makes me well up when I hear it.

A little bit ironic

Hope being performed by Emeli now.

I love that song. But I thought she would've performed My Kind of Love, which I think is her next single. I hope Hope (:kink:) can get into the charts anyway, even if it's just the top 200 again.

Thanks I guess :P My love for many random Kerrang fodder songs from circa 2006-7 stems from my sister always watching, well, Kerrang on TV at the time. This was long before I actually became interested in music myself so these are some of my earliest musical memories  'Empty Walls' was always my favourite of the songs they played all the time back then and I was disappointed when I found out it was never a hit.

Which somehow reminds me of another fairly obvious one I missed off (see, even with a list THAT long there are obvious oens I'm missing off, it's an endless list) - Arcade Fire's Keep The Car Running. How did this never go top 40, seriously? :( On the other hand I find 'Rebellion (Lies)', their biggest hit, to be hugely overrated. Still really good but not worthy of the enormous level of critical acclaim it has these days.

I like your list Brey but Example Stay Awake seems so odd in that list

Chase & Status feat. Liam Bailey - Blind Faith

Chase & Status feat. Plan B - End Credits

Favourite Chase & Status songs! + Heartbeat & Let You Go.

Stay Awake isn't that odd compared to some other songs in that list, it was produced by Nero who have an entry of their own lower down (although it's not in any order of preference ofc, just the order I thought of them hence all the multiple entires by artists being clumped together).

Assuming by 'Heartbeat' you mean their remix of the Nneka song, that is really good as well  'Let Me Go' is my third least favourite song off 'No More Idols' though (I'd give it a 7/10 on a mostly 9+ album), I can see why it was a single in a way but only 'Midnight Caller' and 'Embrace' are worse to me. 'Embrace' was massively disappointing as I'm a big fan of White Lies and obviously a massive fan of Chase & Status but they just didn't work together and it's the worst on the album :(

Let alone Toto?! Do you have Jason Derulo to thank for that one?

I find that notion offensive. (To be fair, Jason did remind me of its existence as I hadn't heard it for quite a while before 'Fight For You' came out, but the reason I love it so much is because my mum always used to play that song on car journeys when I was a young child :P For the same reason I also have a lot of love for some random flops from the 80s like Suzanne Vega's 'Marlene On The Wall' and Bruce Springsteen's 'The River' (which remains my favourite song of his)).

-x-

TL;DR version - In this post I explain my love for a few random songs that don't seem to belong in my list.
