I can only echo what others have been posting about Chris Brown. Whilst 'Turn Up The Music' isn't exactly his worst single (yes, he's released much worse imo over the years), it really isn't worthy of being a #1 hit. :(

 

It's also the type of song that if it does go to no. 1 on iTunes, it won't be there by Friday evening meaning yet another "one week wonder". This the exact reason why I've always been against such things as the tracks that get there for their sole week aren't even deserving of one week at the top. Again, imo. :P (I know plenty of Buzzjackers would love to have 52 new no. 1 singles in a calendar year - that thought fills me with absolute dread).

 

So Gotye for sixth non consecutive week at no. 1 or Katy Perry for 2nd week at no. 1 - Chris Brown to "do a Dappy" please. :D

Could Gotye briefly get back to #1 before Chris gets there? (Probably not).

 

Plan B doing great so far, really hoping it can at least match the peak of She Said or even get to #2 although I think Chris sadly has it in the bag now. I echo the general sentiment that TUTM is far from his best material and doesn't deserve to be the song to get him a #1 :(

It seems odd that in the UK charts quite a few artists over the years have had just one #1 single but their lower peaking singles are regarded as being much better.

Chris Brown seems to have stalled at #5 mind you there is a bit of a gap between 4 and 5, it be nice if Gotye got a 6th week or Katy Perry hang on for a second week.

 

There only seems to be 2 new tracks in the 40 this week, hardly anything else is going to pop out of the woodwork.

 

It be interesting around June if the winner of The Voice will get a track out immediate after the show. I just couldn't bear it if its a cover hogging the top spot during the summer months. :(

The Voice's winning singles around the world have always been original (often written by the artist themselves), so no worries there :P I think one of the European winners the other month released I Can't Make You Love Me though, so there's a chance.

And so the public have lapped up generic club song No.656577...can't really be surprised. If i had to think of something positive to say, at least Katy Perry will be off the #1 spot!

 

B.Traits could still go top 30, two versions of the song will help. Unlikely to be as big as Get Out My Head though (i think there was a fake version of that song too)

 

Even Mayhem is doing rather well! Definitely growing on me now

Considering Plan B's video hasn't even been played on T.V (I haven't seen it anywhere and i'm always watching the music channels and I haven't heard anyone else say they've saw it) and only has Radio 1 support, i'd say #18 already is pretty impressive.

Bloody nora the top 5 on iTunes are so close, I can see Chris Brown with a massive lead soon. -_-

Yes, that was the winner of the second season of The Voice of Holland. During the first season, the 4 finalists all released an original song but that changed during the second season for some reason.

 

Can't believe that Chris Brown song is so high, it's so incredibly generic and average. Forever is still his best song.
