I disagree about Heartbroken. Such a classic and I still occasionally hear it on nights out and on the occasional radio show too! :o

I don't do clubbing....yet again, some of the radio stations in the Midlands are a bit trite...

Shayne was poorly managed by Cowell sadly....if you've got a pair of boobs or a bunch of pretty boys like 1D - he will manage you though thank god for Alexandra breaking away.

One of my favourite mashups ever, and unbelievably went top 10 in January 1999:

Biggest hit for either artist, although a bit misleading - it's clearly the riff from Josh Wink's 'Higher State of Conciousness', not the very similar riff from the Porn Kings's 'Up To No Good'!

How did Radio 1 handle the name 'Porn Kings'?

I think the T2 song is well remembered in some circles. It was quite unique at the time to be fair, and spawned a bit of a bassline trend that led to H Two O and probably some other hits I've forgotten. I only remember being annoyed that it stopped Call The Shots from even going to #2, let alone #1.

Porn Kings vs DJ Supreme... yep, another January one for this thread, which used to be THE prime month for top 10 hits that would be forgotten by March. :D

Anyway, some more from me (all from the year 2005!):

Garbage's last decent-sized hit (let's face it, the singles from their next album will be lucky to make the top 100), this reached #7 in April 2005. I played this one on REPEAT back then - so addictive.

And also the last time Melanie C reached the top 10 on the exact same week! I bought both, probably at the same time I'd assume. Anyway, this was her last decent song really (I no longer pay attention to her but what I've heard has been dreck).

And completing a trio of 2005 forgotten top 10 hits, this one gave Nine Inch Nails their biggest UK hit by miles, perhaps more as a knee-jerk reaction to their long break before than anything else, plus the low sales threshold no doubt helped too. I guess it's a well-remembered by a certain (rock) audience but the public would draw a blank here I'd expect. This one was on MTV2 constantly at the time!

I agree about "Life Got Cold" being forgotten.....shame it has been forgotten by their feeble single "The Promise".

I LOVE this one of theirs from 2006.......shame it's ignored and fell out the chart like a stone:

Absolutely beautiful......their voices work well in this song.

Easily my fav GA single

Was just thinking Feeder's Tumble & Fall would be one for this thread. Made #5 in 2005 and dropped like a brick. 2005 - the year of the fanbase hit. :(

#10 in 2001 for this mash-up

HIM had a top 10 hit in 2005 (and one in 2004 as well)

That was a classic case of "let's release the obvious single second so we can have two decent sized hits rather than one large one" (also known as the Saturdays formula) with "Feeling A Moment" being the far more suitable lead single. It made #13 with a post-album release and probably would have done better than "Tumble and Fall" had it come first, but then T&F would have bombed had it not been the lead single.

Strange fact: the album these two came from débuted at #2 behind Athlete. Neither of these two bands would come anywhere near the top these days, while débuting at #4 was Michael Bublé. Interesting turnaround in the last seven years.

Both such great songs - the latter is definetly placed higher in my all time favourite Kylie songs!

Oh YES at the inclusion of 'Next Best Superstar'. One of my favourite Melanie C songs. I saw a performance of it on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway or something and she was dreadful at performing it :( But the studio version is LIFE. She will forever remain as the ultimate Spice Girl imo (she was always my favourite when the band were together too!) But Superbossanova, stop what you're doing and give 'Burn' a listen. My favourite Melanie C song in a while!

I lost interest in Shayne Ward the minute he started singing about childbirth in his lyrics...too creepy beyond words! Don't think the singles off 'Breathless' did it any justice to be honest cos' what was on the album was miles better.

Nice to hear 'Whole Lotta History' and 'Chocolate' up there! Two of my favourite songs from GA and Kylie.

Another queen of forgotten top 10 hits (largely because her solo material was bad rehashes of 'A Girl Like Me' era Emma Bunton and Natalie Imbruglia)...Kym Marsh anyone?

"Cry" is a great little ballad, and should have been a #1...."Come On Over" is a bit meh......though her final single "Sentimental" was worse....that was like a rejected national final song for Malta!

I don't know if this has been posted but "Impossible" by Shontelle made top 10 in September 2010....gorgeous ballad:

This effort from Kings of Leon has been ignored due to the obvious two repeat returners to the chart - "Radioactive":

Another forgotten Westlife song - "Safe":

"Hold my Hand" by Michael Jackson ft Akon has been lost and forgotten too:

I really can't stand Kym Marsh but Cry is a really great track! I agree the other two are pretty average though, I can see how she didn't last.

Speaking of Emma Bunton, the one song I LOVED by her at the time was the brilliant 'Maybe':

I know I'm just agreeing with everything that's being posted here, but MY GOD Maybe was amazing  Easily her best song, I actually prefer it to a big chunk of what Spice Girls ever did as well!

I quite agree. :D I loved it when Emma did that "60s bond girl" era. I loved 'Crickets Sing For Anamaria' too. I think that went top 10 too (#9?) but may have missed out by a place or three.

I didn't like 'Safe' at the time but I actually find it getting stuck in my head quite a bit. Probably Westlife's best effort for me TBH :o
