What about Emeli Sande? ;)

[still allmightly and Our Version of Events era had 2 no1 collabs and 4 top5 songs, she was unlucky not to hit no1 with any of the 4]

From the above list, I would still go with Leona Lewis but it seems quite distant right now.

duets and features don't count: only solo number 1's do, therefore Emeli hasn't scored any number 1's so far...

They did in the original post, otherwise Alexandra Burke has only 1 number one.
I think Cheryl has a good chance next year. She could possibly break Geri's record if she releases two singles before the album.

Cheryl has 3 number #1, not #2, but I don't know if she can debut at #1. If she does another Fight For This Love or Call My Name then yes, she can achieve her 4th #1. I would love if Lily Allen did it too.

I think Cheryl will get a 4th number 1. But I think pixie will get it before as she's the only one out of the, that's releasing anything soon

I believe they mean being the main artist. Alexandra is the main artist in "Bad Boys" and "Start Without You", where as Emeli is a feature in "Read All About It", not the main artist.

She currently has 3 #1s, and if she released two singles before her next album then that's potentially two more #1s = 5 #1s in total = Geri's record broken. That is what OutstandingMike was implying. ;)

You never know, could be Leona! She has a very slim chance that 'One More Sleep' could sneak #1 in a quiet week before Christmas!

Or maybe if she performs "Ave Maria" on the X-factor Final and it becomes a surprise Christmas #1? :D

I don't know how you CAN'T consider "Beneath Your Beautiful" Emeli's song. She always performs it live in concerts and it was included on the deluxe edition of "OVOE".

What's the current record if you include collaborations?

Everybody performs hits they feature on at concerts tbh.

It's not "Emeli's song". It's Labrinth's song, featuring Emeli Sandé. However, it is stupid to say it doesn't count as a #1 for Emeli.

I thought the OCC counted features as number 1s? Like they said that Rihanna has matched a record by Elvis and The Beatles of having 7 number 1s in 7 years, but two of those number 1s were songs she featured on (Run This Town and The Monster).

If features do count, I think either Jessie J, Cheryl or Rita Ora will get more than four number ones eventually. I think Alexandra Burke or Pixie Lott have no hope, their time is up in terms of big success, and Leona Lewis hasn't had a proper hit in years.

You were almost right, Leona has a slim chance of matching the record this week with 'One more sleep'....

It won't last long, though. Geri Halliwell has new music on the way and I'm sure the UK public will support her no matter what.

I'm surprised someone else hasn't already bumped this thread, but Rita's now finally done this (and indeed completely unprecedented at the time of this thread)

Not the best candidate for the title, but good to see someone finally managing it.

But they're not solo #1s! So no-one has yet achieved what Geri achieved.

If you wanna be pedantic, but I personally (and the OCC it seems) count it as being achieved.

I don't really understand this argument - To me, if an artist features on a number 1 and is credited, it counts towards their discography. I think it would look a bit more impressive or 'credible' per se for Rita if she had four number 1s with just her as the lead artist, but I don't think that should detract from her record (plus there's so many features these days, you'd be excluding more and more each time)

4 number ones as a named individual, but not 4 solo number ones
