Sitting On Top of the World now at #819

Tbh, I've never got the hate for Rebecca Black, she got herself a lot of money from Friday, but she actually donated the money to great causes and didin't keep all the money for herself.

Ikr, we all know she's hardly Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey vocally but the poor girl was bullied out of school and everything just because she has a bit of fun with a song which she made as a joke.

 

That's certainly high praise. I just listened to Believe Again for the first time, expecting a complete stormer of a pop song. It doesn't go anywhere at all. I'd say Delta has a good few songs that are ten times better than that, and I don't even know much of her work after her first album. Different strokes for different folks though I suppose.

 

Also just listened to Sitting On Top Of The World for the first time (which is miles better than Believe Again in my opinion) and it's quite a jaunty little tune. I hope it gets considerably higher than top 900.

 

Talking about her first album though, Lost Without You, Innocent Eyes and Predictable remain cracking pop songs.

Well it's one of my favourites I actually should've said, I can't really say it IS one of the best :P

I know #819 is nothing, but I thought the only people who'd download it would've been the 3 die hard fans on here so it's better than I expected.

It seems silly to get excited by it, but I think it's a really good thing - it's not smashing, but is being bought on a word of mouth basis. It's gonna give Sony something to think about, that Delta would be worth some promotion over here. A spot on The Voice here would be wonderful - since she has the coaches role in the Australian version, but not sure if the schedules would allow it, I think The Voice in Australia will be live on Mondays

Wasn't Innocent Eyes like a multi-platinum selling abum in the UK? How people haven't heard of her, I'll never know. Then again, some kids these days (not on BuzzJack, clearly!) haven't even heard of the Spice Girls. :lol: It's a shame that she's become the queen of the forgotten top ten hit though, because Born To Try, Lost Without You and Innocent Eyes, are all brilliant tracks. :wub:

 

Also, would like to add, I almost bought Innocent Eyes in CEX today for £1, but decided to sleep on it. And I'm contemplating a purchase of Sitting On Top Of The World! (Though I've only listened once so far, so may need to give it another go before deciding. :P)

Anyone who's not heard much by Delta must be MAD. She's honestly one of the best artists I've ever heard. The Mistaken Identity album is just perfect, as I said earlier on. Give that album a listen if you've not heard much by her. ;)
