Tulisa is most likely going to be no. 1 but then either Tulisa will stick at no. 1 for a second week thanks to her performing on BGT on one of the live semi final shows. Otherwise, Carly will make the most of Tulisa's sales plummet and regain no. 1 - I can't see 'R.I.P.' going to no. 1, and I'm also doubting whether 'The Power' (upcoming DJ Fresh single) will grab the top spot either. Neither are absolutely brilliant tracks (imo :P ) and can't see them appealing to general music buyers.

Weren't people fairly certain Calvin & Conor would also get #01 though?

Some were, I personally wasn't whereas I am about Tulisa and Rita (although I'm far from highly accurate in my chart predictions so they probably will both stall at #2 now :P)

'99 Problems' in the top 40 :cheer: Didn't notice The Fray getting so high either.

I never expected Conor to get the #1 but was unsure about Calvin. I DO think either Tulisa or Rita should be able to do it but again I'm not sure.

I honestly can't see Tulisa doing much more than 80k in her first week. (Which is surely a safe bet for Carly to get another week at the top, even in decline she'll be at least on 95k...) Tulisa won't even do it in her 2nd week (even with the BGT performance - people seem to be losing interest in that show) I don't know, maybe I'm alone, but I can't see Tulisa being anything other than the 'Swagger Jagger' of 2012 only with a peak of #2.

Rita Ora won't get number 1, although she'll definitely hold up so much more than Tulisa and I can see her spending at least 2 months top 10, eventually peaking at #2. 'How We Do' will be a huge #1 for Rita though, I reckon.

I really, really hope Rita Ora gets #1 with R.I.P. I love that song. Not sure if she will though. As others have said, it's not a very commercial song, so will probably fall quickly like ill Manors, Promises, etc, but I hope it does well somehow.
'R.I.P.' is commercial. Not as commercial as most pop songs by other females currently in and out of the charts at the moment, but it's most certainly a lot more listenable and more radio friendly than the "non commercial" tracks you've just stated. She'll be sticking around with 'R.I.P.', that I'm certain of. (If she isn't then I'll gladly hold my hands up and admit I was wrong)

I don't think anyone predicted Carly Rae Jepsen to have held up this well - but with Tulisa next week, I could see it going 'Call Me Maybe' (4) - 'Young' (1) - back to 'Call Me Maybe' (1); in a similar way to Adele's interruption by Nicole Scherzinger and Gotye's interruption by DJ Fresh (though his was 1 week, break, 4 weeks).

I can't see Tulisa not getting to #1 really - Rita Ora however, I feel that it's already at its peak in terms of promotion, so illegal downloading will have begun to pick up. Looks like we'll just have to wait and see.

How is R.I.P. not commercial? I think it'll hold up really well and possibly go platinum personally (watch me be totally wrong here).

I don't think it is really. I've seen lots of the usual complaining that it "doesn't have a tune", "song goes nowhere", blah blah blah. It's not like Domino or Moves Like Jagger, let's put it that way. I hope you're right though. Some songs like that do hang around, such as Pass Out and Earthquake, which aren't very commercial, so it's possible. They all have Tinie Tempah in common aswell. Her other song, How We Do is the sort of thing I think will easily hang around aswell, and Heart FM, etc. would probably play that.

Both will be getting number one easily, they have been top 60 on pre-orders for nearly a month.

But like I said, Carly will be in decline to at least 95k. I can't see Tulisa or Rita getting over 80k in their first weeks. (Although I'm probably going to be wrong) I just can't see it happening.
I am fairly certain both Tulisa and Rita will get to #1 :P

Tulisa yes, I thinking Rita no, could see Tulisa's at #1 for 2 to 3 weeks, don't know what can knock Tulisa's off the top spot though, unless fun. can grab a week at some point.

I can't see Tulisa's BGT performance having much effect.

Last year, Avril Lavigne performed a medley and neither single nor her album entered the top 100. Jessie J performed an album track and it didn't go top 100, and JLS performed a medley and neither song went top 100 either. The show is completely dead as far as "boosts" go for guest performers. X-Factor will probably go the same way.

It's all about The Voice performances.

Well, we can't check if Florence's song is in the top 1000. :drama: We'll just have to wait until it appears in the top 100.

Personally I'm glad we don't have access to the Top 1000 anymore.

It will put a stop to posts like 'Delta Goodrem up 5 places to #845, OMG.' which last week was frankly ANNOYING.

Having the top 1000 was useful for songs that were likely to shoot up. Sundays at 1am ain't gonna be fun anymore. I don't understand why iTunes have decided to be so annoying lately. First the popbars and now this.

Sundays at 1am, I will miss you :( (I suppose we can still see where single EPs come in, but you can mostly guess them anyway - Tulisa will obviously come straight in at #1 etc.)
