April 14, 201213 yr Reset was right before Don't Go in the running order and I worried that it would steal its thunder but it looks like the reverse happened in this case. I did think that Randomfurlong's odds of it as 5th favourite were a little optimistic but I thought it would at least qualify, it's a really strong ballad. OOPS. April 15, 201213 yr Looking through the final lineup, there are 8 songs that I LOVE and are guaranteed points and another 7 that I really like, sadly only two of which will get my support. I still miss the 'voting for 15 songs' system :lol:

April 16, 201213 yr Oh, I'm through. Yay, I was a bit worried, but not that much. Ouch at a few of the DNQs though. 8 Danaelanda - Christina Walls - Carry Me To Paradise 5 Daehun - Brown Eyed Girls - Abracadabra 2 Mdice - Beach House - Myth Not too bad, in all honesty... Real shame to see Umiiruka, Vojvodina and Lake Thermwoods miss out (the former two were brilliant and the latter was very haunting). Very pleased to see Zechonia through though from the other semi. Tirren's entry was his worst for a while, so I'm not TOO surprised at him not making it, but still a shame.
April 16, 201213 yr Is this a shared opinion by most, because The World Is Ours is genuinely my favourite of Tirren's entries in quite a long time, at least on par with Live Tomorrow for me. I thought it would contend for the top ten! Incidentally, I'd be interested to know what his initial entry was before changing to this. Could this third DNQ have been avoided?
April 16, 201213 yr I'm with Eyes on The World Is Ours, not one of Tirren's finest moments. It was a shock DNQ though, and it wasn't too bad - I wouldn't have minded it qualifying anyway.
April 16, 201213 yr Looking at my ranking of the tracks in SF1, 'The World Is Ours' was listed 13th out of 23 songs (not including my own :P ) so it wasn't far off my top 10. My least favourite was the only song I gave a solid 0/10 as it was a track I'd already heard and wasn't prepared to listen to it again - not even 30 seconds. :lol:
April 16, 201213 yr I rated it 7/10 - so I liked it ^_^ I thought it was fun and summery! Having said that; not that they've brought any amazing stuff for me this year, but generally I SORT OF expected a bit more coming from Kopečka.

That's a very interesting comment, I feel like a certain few countries with a good record/reputation in the contest are subconsciously sort of expected to deliver the goods every single month without fail and it does put quite a bit of pressure on finding another HIT entry. That said, I gave up on that front a long time ago and now just send my favourite song (from whichever genre it may be) and cross my fingers. If I REALLY wanted to do well every month, or at least attempt to then I'd send Scandipop every month, most of my big hits have come from the genre! But I've sort of gotten over my Scandi love affair in BJSC. In fact, where four of the first five entries I sent in 2010 were Swedish, only two of my past eight entries have been Scandinavian - Red Hot and Flares, my only two really big hits in that time period! :lol:
April 16, 201213 yr So glad that we made it through again! :D I was doubtful this time as I hadn't seen much love for 'Happiness' and with the high number of participants this month. Haven't DNQ'd since XXXVII so here's to continuing that run for as long as possible! I thought it would contend for the top ten! Well I suppose on reflection it's better than Lover, maybe I wasn't counting that one. But compared to entries like Sober, Everything's Fine, Live Tomorrow and even Holy Moses, which I didn't even vote for in the end, Catcall's got nothing for me.
April 17, 201213 yr Holy Moses was :wub: Even Live Tomorrow was good, though it was pretty old when it was entered, and had an annoying remix. Catcall reminded me of Best Coast (NOT A GOOD THING).
