Has there ever been a proper sleeper hit that got to #1 in the UK? I can't think I any but there most be some obvious ones. I mean songs such as Just Dance's performance stateside; quite a while around the lower regions of the chart then hit #1 sometime after.

Celine Dion's 'Think Twice' from 1994 took 15 weeks to hit the top spot - Incredible that its journey to the top was so slow as this was long before the download era:

Think Twice: 53-42-52-30-28-22-20-9-8-5-6-4-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-3-4-12-17-22-34-51-67-70

And i just wish that Nickelback had made it with 'Rock Star' theirs would have been some lengthy chart run to the top too - From memory i think they were actually #1 in 1 or 2 of the midweek updates -

Rock Star: 64-58-45-34-20-21-19-22-25-25-15-8-4-6-3-3-2-2....

My Kind Of Love new peak #15. Please go top 10, it'd be great to see it in there.

Remedy really doing well too with being 59p heading for top 20!

I'd love to see We Are Young #1, imagine if it got there this week, is there a reason for the boost? Or is it just because its been selling so well every single week since its been out :o

its great when songs are riduced to 59p at the perfect time like POC and Remedy!

POC hasnt been reduced. Still 99p. (as in Princess Of China)

Really surprised at The Sats still holding at 7. Usually they go into freefall...Fingers crossed they can hold top 10 next week, although I doubt it.

They normally go in to freefall because they normally get to about #2 or #3, at least top 5, but as they are #7 they should be able to stay there at least for one full week.

They usually seem to suffer a slump towards the weekend - Hoping they don't get overtaken too much Fri/Sat

i hope 30 days can sustain itself. it seems insane that 'Issues' spending four weeks in the uk top 10 is the most they have ever got to
I think by maintaining No.7 for 2 days, pre-sales, physicals and early EP sales (1 day. it's now #46) they should hopefully be able to hang on to Top 5 by Sunday.
are there any major releases next week? Fun should get #1 if there aren't any
jennifer lopez and the wanted have new releases out next week. also hoping paloma faith will be able to make the top 10 but i expect her album to go number one anyway
The Wanted will probably get to #1 next week. Their EP has been hanging aroung the Top100 (sometimes even Top50) on iTunes for about 3 weeks now and they're getting quite a good support from radio as well.

Sats down to #8 :(

Still they are still at #2 in the midweeks.

Kelly Clarkson - "Dark Side" #282.

Next single, finally appearing in the top 400. Capital FM & the Capital network have put this in rotation recently and BBC radio 2 B-listed it. Video should be out soon.

 21. Remedy (feat. Ruth Anne) - Professor Green

:o Looks like this will become his highest peaking post-album release - he's gone top 5 with all three of his pre-album releases but his post-album releases have only got to 29, 31 and 35.

fun. still looking like a potential #1 - still probably not unless they get iTunes #1 with a big lead now and knock Rita off this Sunday, as The Wanted are a fairly safe #1 for next week one would assume (and they'd overtake Rita as the 2nd best #1 of the year for me :P) so they'd need to still be in contention for at least another 3 weeks.

Climax back in the top 40 at #36 thanks to being 59p :D Probably won't get back in officially though. (Same goes for 'Oh My Goodness' back up to #37).

Rascal Flatts now down to #42, but they're #20 in the mids today which is probably far too high for them to drop out by Sunday :( 'Turn To You (Mother's Day Dedication)' down to #55.

'Princess Of China' now  to #30 :cheer: Could go top 40 this week then and reach a new peak next week maybe? 'Small Bump' to #79. '110%' back in the top 100 at #83 - I hope it can actually make it in officially this time and not do a 'Heartbeat' (Childish Gambino).

Fake version of 'Payphone' at #80 - I have now heard this (real version obviously). I think you can probably predict what I thought of it. It's not quite as atrocious as MLJ though.

91. It's All Coming Back to Me Now (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

Potential official top 100 hit if it's already top 100 now.

D'banj will probably overtake The Saturdays soon, currently at #9 and #8 respectively. A bit disappointed D'banj hasn't yet climbed further with the top 10 effect.

D'Banj - 'Oliver Twist' - what the hell is this? Sounds like an absolute mess, from another forgettable artist like Gyptian (I mean 'Hold You' will likely forever remain his only hit). It's at #9 officially, hoping it doesn't climb any further.

Great to see 'Princess of China' and 'Remedy' doing well though.

Hey, it's the year of one hit wonders - 'Oliver Twist' will be a much lesser hit than some other one-hit wonders of the year (Carly, fun., Gotye, even Alyssa) but still. It's great to see artists like him are capable of doing this well, I really didn't see it being this big at all. Like I said the other day I can't think when there was last an African act in the top 10 who isn't equally another nationality (K'naan is Somali-Canadian and Tinchy Stryder is British-Ghanaian). Might even go as far back as Youssou N'Dour in 1994? Probably not but I can't think who else it could be.
