I see the 59p price reduction is paying off nicely for Taio Cruz - Seems to be becoming more and more common way now to secure an under performing new release a nice boost - And finally Lady Antebellum has been reduced to 59p too! Might finally make the Top 20 officially now - If they had dropped the price to fit it wth the Jubilee performance i think it would have easily gone Top 10!

Loving the chart run of 'Express Yourself' - 34-17-16-18-16-18-17

 

His last single 'Last Time' peaked at #4 and only managed 6 weeks in the Top 75 - 'Express Yourself' has not gone above #16 yet and managed 6 weeks in the Top 20! :lol:

Just a shame nobody is buying Labrinth's album. I expected it to be massive but I suspect 'Last Time' killed any momentum he had after 'Earthquake'.

I think Last Time would've had a similar chart run to Express Yourself if it was on air, on sale.

 

Express Yourself is much better though, so I hope it outsells Last Time! :lol:

On the topic of Labrinth, I think 'Last Time' really was a big mistake. The positive reception he's got from 'Express Yourself' should ensure he doesn't release any more generic club songs. A video for 'Treatment' is being shot currently, the album highlight for me. If we get that for the end of July, we should get the Emeli Sande collaboration, 'Beneath Your Beautiful' in time for October/November (in which case an X Factor performance is possible).

 

Taio Cruz up to #12, my my. Will definitely be purchasing 'Need You Now' now that it's 59p, almost bought it yesterday - so it's a good thing I waited. Top 20, here it comes!

Oh, Taio is 59p - that explains that then. Why is he clever enough to realise he can do this but not clever enough to make better music? :arrr: Sincerely hope this does not touch the top 10 but it's been constantly climbing for a few days and is now #12 so it probably will. Hmph.

 

Anyhow, chart statistics time :magic: Like 'Beauty And A Beat' for Bieber last week, this will be Pitbull's 20th top 100 hit - took him 334 weeks to achieve that, but hits 3-20 have taken only the latter 157 of those weeks. He had two very minor hits as a featured artist in 2006 and 2007 but it wasn't until 'I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)' in 2009 that he became a regular charter.

 

Unrelated to Taio/Pitbull, 'Need You Now' is 59p now as well? Why couldn't this just STAY DEAD :cry:

At a reduced price, apparently so. No one cared while it was still 99p though. Other flopstars/irrelevant people need to TAKE NOTE here.

The power of the 59p single - Reminds me of the bargain bin days of Woolies when they used to reduce CDs to 10p to try and get rid of them and would send a random song shooting back up the charts from #74 to #41 after previously having a chart run of : 12-39-74 :lol:
