RiRi has now sold a staggering combined total of 20 million singles and albums on UK turf, according to the latest Official Charts Company's sales data. It has been just under seven years since her debut UK hit, Pon De Replay, reached Number 2 on the Official Singles Chart; since then, the 24-year-old singer has sold over 14 million singles and over six million albums in the United Kingdom. Rihanna has not only had phenomenal success with her solo material, but is also famed for her prolific collaborations with artists such as Drake, Kanye West and fellow Hackney Weekend headliner Jay-Z. The Bajan superstar's biggest UK hit single to date is 2011's We Found Love FT Calvin Harris, which has now sold over 1.14 million copies. In fact, We Found Love is one of THREE different singles on which Rihanna features that have smashed the hallowed 1 million sales milestone (the other two being 2010's Love The Way You Lie, appearing with Eminem, and Only Girl (In The World)). Rihanna cemented her place in the Official Charts history books in November last year by becoming the only female artist ever to achieve the Official Singles and Official Albums Chart double TWICE in the same year with different singles and albums. The albums that helped her pull off this feat - 2010's Loud and her most recent collection Talk That Talk, both hit the Number 1 spot in 2011 and went on to sell 1.8m and 850,000 copies, respectively. Though it is 2007's Good Girl Gone Bad that takes the title of her biggest selling album in the UK, having racked up a cool 1.85m sales on these shores to date. The Official Charts Company's Managing Director, Martin Talbot says: "Rihanna's record, in selling more than 20 million singles and albums in the space of seven years, is truly staggering. There certainly must have been something in the water when she - and Adele three months later - was born in Spring 1988!" And if all that's not enough of a CV for somebody who is still only 24 YEARS OLD, Rihanna is also the only female artist in the history of the Official Charts to have featured on five Number 1 singles in five consecutive years (2007's Umbrella, 2008's Take A Bow, 2009's Run This Town, 2010's Only Girl In The World, and 2011's We Found Love), and is the 10th bigest selling artist in the 60-year history of the Official Singles Chart. Rihanna's Official Top 10 biggest-selling tracks are as follows: 01 Rihanna FT Calvin Harris We Found Love 02 Eminem FT Rihanna Love The Way You Lie 03 Rihanna Only Girl (In The World) 04 Rihanna FT Drake What's My Name 05 Rihanna FT Jay-Z Umbrella 06 Rihanna S&M 07 Rihanna Rude Boy 08 David Guetta FT Rihanna Who's That Chick 09 Rihanna Disturbia 10 Rihanna Russian Roulette OFFICIAL NUMBERS SAY RIHANNA IS OVER 20M RECORDS IN THE UK: Here are my ESTIMATES: UK SALES: SONGS: PLATINUM = 6.159.600 1 We Found Love - 1.146.200 [~4.300 (#75)] 2 Love the way you lie - 1.044.600 [~1.500 (OUT)] 3 Only girl (In the world) - 1.038.100 [~800 (OUT)] 4 What's my name - 802.400 [~400 (OUT)] 5 Umbrella - 800.900 [~600 (OUT)] 6 S & M - 685.100 [~500 (OUT)] 7 Rude boy 642.300 [~400 (OUT)] GOLD = 2.686.100 8 Who's that chick? 558.500 [~500 (OUT)] 9 Disturbia 461.100 [~300 (OUT)] 10 Russian roulette 431.400 [~300 (OUT)] 11 Dont stop the music 417.200 [~200 (OUT)] 12 Take Care 412.600 [~5.200 (#57)] 13 Take a bow 405.300 [~300 (OUT)] SILVER = 3.396.200 14 Unfaithful 394.500 [~400 (OUT)] 15 Live your life 383.200 [~100 (OUT)] 16 SOS 316.200 [~100 (OUT)] 17 Run this town 311.300 [~600 (OUT)] 18 California king bed 293.600 [~300 (OUT)] 19 All of the lights 283.400 [~400 (OUT)] 20 Where Have You Been 278.300 [23.000 (#15)] 21 Shut up and drive 247.300 [~100 (OUT)] 22 Te amo 244.000 [~200 (OUT)] 23 Princess Of China 229.300 [45.500 (#5)] 24 Pon de replay 210.200 [~100 (OUT)] 25 Fly 204.900 [~300 (OUT)] NOT CERT. = 1.261.000 26 You Da One 193.800 [~700 (OUT)] 27 Cheers 183.600 [~500 (OUT)] 28 Rehab 175.100 [~100 (OUT)] 29 Hate that I love you 170.300 [~100 (OUT)] 30 Talk That Talk 121.600 [~1.700 (OUT)] 31 Man down 96.600 [~500 (OUT)] 32 If I never see your face again 73.400 [>100 (OUT)] 33 If it's lovin' that you want 71.600 [>100 (OUT)] 34 Hard 71.200 [~100 (OUT)] 35 We ride 51.200 [>100 (OUT)] 36 Wait your turn 26.800 [~100 (OUT)] 37 Birthday Cake 16.100 [~800 (OUT)] 38 Cockiness 9.700 [~400 (OUT)] + NON-SINGLE SALES+Others: ~500.000 = 14.002.900 songs ALBUMS: 1. June 26, 201213 yr Poll on Cool Clarity circa Autumn 2005 Who is better? Ciara Amerie Me = Rihanna :D (yes, this was based on 'Pon De Replay' because I always thought it was better than 'Goodies' and '1 Thing' combined) Fast forward 7 years and the sales really do speak for themselves. Rihanna will have such a fantastic Greatest Hits if ever one is released - I even reckon a Rihanna Greatest Hits would sell over 1 million copies. Just when you think Rihanna's released possibly her best single, another one comes along a year later. It really is extraordinary though. :o
June 26, 201213 yr It's a bit ridiculous how Pon De Replay is now outsold by songs that barely scrape the top 20!
June 27, 201213 yr She is the only Female Act in UK Chart history to have 3 million selling singles. Both The Spice Girls and Celine Dion are both only on 2. Edited June 27, 201213 yr by fiesta
June 27, 201213 yr "1 Thing" is AMAZING! Bad Hits. :( Rihanna has been very successful but it really isn't any surprise, it was "Umbrella" that started it - up until then all of her singles had been very average and only sold moderately well, then she spent 10 weeks at No.1 in the UK and since then has had people queuing up to work with her, including some very prolific songwriters - ergo she ticks all the popstar boxes and has a dedicated team to write strong material at a rate that keeps her in the public conscious.
June 27, 201213 yr She has achieved remarkable success in a very short period. By reading the sales information Loud i believe will end up her best selling album and its still selling and staying in the chart and with less than 40,000 away i believe Loud will manage it.
June 27, 201213 yr It's a bit ridiculous how Pon De Replay is now outsold by songs that barely scrape the top 20! I think there's a lot of regrets from the 2003-2008 period of low sales. Pon De Replay was a genuinely big hit then as well. :( But this makes it all the more incredible that she can do all this in 7 years when sales were much lower when she was starting out. It's a bit ridiculous that the longest-running #1 of this century still hasn't passed a million, but what can you do. Although, Unfaithful's total looks fairly good for a song of that era, so I'm not complaining as far as that goes.

Really? SOS was in the year-end top 10 of 2006... That was a massive hit, and on the radio loads. Good to see What's My Name? topping 800,000!! It must be one of the best-selling RnB songs of the century so far. Edited June 27, 201213 yr by Eric_Blob
June 27, 201213 yr Rihanna's really got three eras - being fairly popular but basically at a similar level as dozens of other popstars at first (2005-early 2007), then 'Umbrella' and other Good Girl Gone Bad singles elevated her up a notch to very popular indeed...then in the last couple of years she's just got insanely huge as a megastar. It was that week at the end of 2010 when three of her songs were in the top 10 at the same time (What's My Name/Only Girl/Who's That Chick) that was the third turning point, since then she's been utterly unescapable. Proud to share my 1988 birth year with her and Adele. :D

I think it's her trademark song now, and it made her even more popular (if that was even possible).
June 28, 201213 yr 'A Girl Like Me''s sales are pleasingly high! I'm always really shocked at how much it's sold whenever it gets said/posted! (Always seems to be getting a lot higher too!) For me she has the perfect discography both musically and sales wise. It is showing that she just gets more and more popular with each passing era and more and more people actually warm to her. She's also developing as an artist every time too. It's incredible. She's the popstar that is "cool" to like. It's amazing when you listen through all her singles/hear them in a concert like Hackney, because you realise there and then just how much she has come since her early days and has always had hit after hit. It's brilliant to see! Everyone else can have their GaGa's, Katy Perry's and Beyonce's. I'll gladly have Rihanna
June 28, 201213 yr A Rihanna Greatest Hits will be huge and if she picks the right tracks I might even buy it. :o
June 28, 201213 yr It's a bit of a shame some of her earlier singles were released in the sales poverty era of the mid 00s. Pon De Replay, Unfaithful, Take A Bow and Dont Stop The Music deserve higher sales
