Fingers crossed Florence starts to pull away now she's clearly #1 on the front page[/iLoon]

Well one version is the clean version, which I think is commendable. Expletives work in some songs, but not with Maroon 5 at all.

I'm not bothered about the #1 (again). "Payphone" is good, but not good enough to be only the third song this year to spend 3+ weeks at #1. "Spectrum" is amazing in its original form, but the Calvin Harris production doesn't suit Florence's voice at all (and unfortunately is the only reason she's this high), which leaves "This is Love" and "Don't Wake Me Up", both of which I really like and wouldn't mind gaining (another in will's case) week, despite being unlikely at this stage.

I'm firmly in loon mode as well Danz. :D Especially considering I bought 'Spectrum' about 2 hours ago.

This has got to be the most unexpected #1 in a very long time if it happens (maybe since This Ain't A Love Song). Very welcome shock though, especially since it would prevent a seemingly inevitable 3rd week for Payphone :cheer:

Won't get too ahead of myself just yet though, the battle is still far from over. Hopefully they'll pull away now though.

This year's been absolutely fantastic.

Nice if Calvin gets a #1 with Spectrum, as he's not able to do it by himself. Something always come in the way.

Whilst I know Calvin wasn't credited, he technically hit the UK no. 1 spot with 'Call My Name' and of course 'We Found Love'. :D

Oh, 'I'm Not Alone'. :D Maybe I've missed the point. :(

Great to see Florence and the Machine doing so well, i hope it can the official number 1 on Sunday. This doing so well should give ceremonials a good boost ( i know this version aint on the album) but it should boost album sales regardless as i have to say im still slightly disappointed by ceremonials sales in the UK as i didnt even contemplate it would struggle to do double platinum. So all going well the album will now easily cruise past double platinum sales.

I didn't find This Ain't a Love Song surprising at all. It was getting Twilight-levels of airplay on Capital before its releaese.

And I hope Adam Lambert can do top 10.

very welcome shock to see florence at number 1 with that remix, the best thing to have come from this era (the original is pretty good as well).

SAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY MMMMYYYY NAAAAAAMMMEEEE  :w00t: :yahoo:

YEY SHE'S NUMBER 1!

If this goes official number 1, this will be the most happy I have ever been for a number 1.

Just when we thought this day couldn't get any better:

CHER LLOYD is top 10 on US iTunes (knocking out Where Have You Been)! :yahoo:

After how huge the Scouting For Girls era was, I would have been surprised if This Ain't A Love Song didn't go to #1 either. A brilliant song though, fully deserved of its position in the end imo.

Really? Which song? I wouldn't have seen Cher Lloyd in the US Charts, she's far to marmite, even for here.

I don't really like Scouting for Girls very much, but I do like Heartbeat and Famous a lot.

Cher's in the top 10 with Want U Back. Definitely the best choice, as it's the least controversial of her three singles, and quite Ke$ha-esque (and Ke$ha's MASSIVE in the US). Interestingly, it's a no-rap version that they've decided to promote in the US aswell. Boy, times have changed.

'Want U Back' although it's more likely to be the version that features Astro or whatever he's called.

Ellie Goulding 'Lights' and Cher Lloyd 'Want U Back' doing well in the US really has surprised me.

Edit; Just read Eric's post. It isn't the rap version? :o

Somewhat surprisingly, they've edited Astro out of the new US video for the song. I'm glad they realised he added nothing good to it!

I think British artists are past the point of needing to tag on a useless American feature to do well in the USA now (and in fact it seems those songs that do have a useless American feature seem to be the ones underperforming, e.g. Let's Go (although that's starting to show signs of growing into a biggish hit), Changed The Way You Kiss Me feat. Ludacris and Heart Skips A Beat feat. Chiddy Bang).

Besides, no one was interested in the Astro version here, IIRC it peaked at #100 on iTunes!

Yeah, it's just a solo version. They remade the music video aswell, with a higher budget for its US release:

I don't know why they haven't released the Astro remix, because he's quite popular there, but the song is doing just fine without him, so it's okay.

I also heard rumours of a Snoop Dogg remix too, but I don't know if they're still going through with that (or if it was even true in the first place).

Want U Back's US chart run so far is: 75-51-35-

So it should be heading for a top 30 position this week.

So they didnt put Astro on it to appeal to the US market then? Astro's inclusion was probably the most pointless of any rent-a-rapper shoe in I've sever seen anyway... I have both versions on my iTunes, even though I don't think much of the song anymore. I wouldv'e guessed it was With Ur Love doing well in the US, seems the most US friendly of her singles anyway!
