I've heard Black Heart so many times in the company of so many people, and I've not heard one person (bar a couple on here!) say they dislike it. It's like the perfect radio song, it's very 'safe' and radio friendly so the older generation like it and it's got a current punch and a bit of attitude so the younger generation like it. And it can easily be in place on the playlists of Heart or Radio 2 just as easily as Capital or Kiss, whereas songs like Vegas Girl or Brokenhearted can't reach such wide audiences and only have one side of the radio audience.

I'm not completely sure but it's used for a little bit on the Now! 82 advert and it's been on quite a lot so it could be that. :)

 

That might mean it'll be one of the most cherry-picked from the album this week, because the classic I Got 5 On It was in an advert for a compilation album a while ago and it re-entered the top 100. :wub:

Black Heart is playlisted by Radio 1Xtra, which usually likes playing artists such as DJ Fresh, Rick Ross, N-Dubz, Nero, Wiz Khalifa, etc. AND playlisted by Radio 2 and Heart which usually like playing artists such as Rumer, Michael Buble, Train, Bruno Mars, Amy MacDonald, etc. I think that pretty much says how broad appeal the song has. :lol:

^^indeed they are an urban pop group like sugababes but the record company has played it safe after the quick exit from the chart by love me.....so its massive airplay has caused it to rise this week after the static 2 weeks weve had!!

Just listening to that new XX and Two Door Cinema Club tracks here, they really are great....wish radio 1 would alist them soon after their on air on sale release(as usual for indie artists) and get them up the chart!

Good to see Conor finally at least top 10 and it's now not an overly big jump to #2 but I imagine he'll end up at like #5/6 on Sunday.

 

Madeon seems to already be falling so 'Finale' is probably on to miss the top 40, big disappointment as I genuinely thought this was set to outpeak 'Icarus' :(

 

Cedric still only at #58, really surprised at how badly this is bombing! Clement Marfo & The Frontline on the other hand doing way better than I expected, at #64 :o

 

'National Anthem' has finally cracked the top 100 at #96, maybe it could re-enter the official top 100 this week.

I am quite pleased with that news. I know it's not like the top 40 or anything but I find National Anthem really special and after how it was going, I didn't think it would ever go top 100 on the charts, let alone iTunes. I also saw the video twice on the music channels recently, which surprised me. It's keeping the album doing alright too.

I prefer Vegas Girl to Can't Say No but I still can't say I like it, but it is definitely needed in the top 10 because the top 10 is so stale and dull. Nicki Minaj might climb up to #2 as well when/if the video is released this week as the gap isn't very big at the moment (although that could all change). Glad Karmin is going okay too.

 

I wish more songs were being released now such as 'How We Do', 'Settle Down', 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)', 'Good Time' - They could really take advantage and rack up some really good sales and dominate the charts in this climate (although there's no guarantee on a couple of those).

Have you listened to champion yet bre?i think its really good, thought with the olympics it could have went top 40, maybe by friday if its used at the events?

 

Maynard could be top 3 by the mids with the eps added but the now album could push him down again...anyone got a list of the now albums tracks?

I find that nowadays I'm "pleased" if a song I like gets top 100. With the big hits hanging around endlessly, expecting most songs at having any chance at going top 40 is a bit unrealistic. I guess it's gone past those days when "small hits" could chart at the lower end of the top 40, now to reach the top 40 a song usually has to be pretty big. I could see some songs like No Church in the Wild selling close to 100,000 eventually, but it's only spent 1 week in the top 40...

The cover of the single shows a runner leaning down before he races, but a messed up cartoon style picture and the lyrics are about being first/doing the best you can - it reminds me of champion by chipmunk in fact!!

 

When is neyos new track out, its video is premiered on mtv this weekend!

Conor Maynard is number 8 now. I wonder what caused Stooshe to go up to number 3 all of a sudden?

Stooshe's 2nd version was deleted which was 99p. So the people that were buying that are now buying the 59p version. Not to mention the amazing airplay it's received and the use of it on the Now! advert. Perhaps this will go platinum by the end of the year?! So happy for all the success Stooshe are having with this :wub:
