Go Dizzee and Maxsta!!! :cheer: And Mariah (if she's really getting released this week! :o).

Out of interest, what would you pick as the next two singles?

I would choose Arena for the 3rd single and Castles for the 4th single.

I think almost all the songs on the album would make good singles tbh, most of the songs are very pop friendly. Only a couple I think wouldn't be hits, like Out of My Mind (no radio station will play that ) or Just a Sign (I LOVE this song, it's just a bit weird, and also wouldn't get played much anywhere imo).

Ooh, Little Talks released - really hope it can manage a respectable debut this week (top 10 would be brill) but wherever it debuts I'm confident it'll be around for ages anyway!

Would quite like to see Maxsta and Redlight doing well too. Not sure what to expect of Dizzee's new song, I haven't heard it yet but I don't really sense any hype around it at all yet? I may be wrong though.

I would love by some miracle to see kreayshawn enter the top 100 with 'go hard', I loved 'gucci gucci' but this is so much more better, catchier and has had an overall better reaction on the internet. the latter did get radio 1 support and it bombed though, so it's highlighy unlikely :( on the other hand, it's her second single to be released here and I think since then she's gathered more of an online following so I hope that can spark some form of UK success.

Why was Jay's thread deleted?

Woo for a bunch of moderately interesting releases this week! Had no idea Mariah was going OA/OS with Triumphant (she's taken our advice!!!11!11!), I expect that to bomb but I'm pleased nonetheless. Kreayshawn is an obvious bomb too, I'm a bit sad that Radio 1 haven't bothered with her after they supported Gucci Gucci, but Go Hard (as nice as it is) was never going to be big anyway. Madonna and Niki & The Dove will obviously bomb, I'm more than a bit surprised that the former seems to be defying Matthew's prediction of going top 10. I think/hope Wiley holds onto #1 this week, but I could see Lawson snatching it.

Interesting since "Out Of My Mind" is the next single - British radio will have a dilemma given they're loving Nicki so much, US radio will lap it up. "Arena" is a pretty obvious one but I'd love to see him release "Ray Bands" - "So Good" proves he can get a solo hit, he hasn't got much to lose.

Why was Jay's thread deleted?

I didn't realise Jay had posted one. I must've posted this literally seconds after Jay.

After I posted this, I kept last weeks thread open in a second tab so that I could post a link there for people still reading that thread. It was only when I went back to the main menu I saw Jay's thread and thought it'd look odd to combine the two.

I hope "Taking Over Me" will be another Top 5 hit for Lawson..It's very catchy song. Besides, i like the new single of Basshunter. "Northern Light" is as good as his first singles. Furthermore, we have a chart battle of flopping divas..Mariah Carey vs Madonna..Which of them will have the worst sales..? It's difficult to predict but "Turn Up The Radio" is a little better than "Triumphant". Last but not least, i have the sense that "Little Talks" will be a big surprise by the end of the next week..

Of Monsters And Men for #1. Nothing else matters.

Actually, before I pass judgement too quickly, Redlight can live too.

US radio won't play Out of My Mind I don't think. They hardly played Both of Us (it got just a little bit of play on the pop and rhythmic formats). And I don't really understand why, but US urban radio hardly play B.o.B (they only played Nothin' On You, and have mainly ignored him after that). Which is part of the reason I suggested Arena and Castles, since they feature heavyweights on US urban radio, so could finally get him airplay on there again. And I doubt UK radio will play the song, since Nicki features on lots of songs that they don't play (there's a current example in the top 100, Take it to the Head has both Nicki and Chris Brown on it, but UK radio aren't playing it).

The only recent Nicki feature I could ever see UK radio playing is her one on Justin Bieber's album, but I hope Justin doesn't release it, just because he's done so much to improve his reputation (it's almost "cool" to like him now), and Beauty and the Beat would just be a whole step back to where he was in 2010. He has songs like Out of Town Girl, She Don't Like the Lights, Catching Feelings and Right Here which could further his popularity (even if they don't do that well in the charts, they're better in the grand scheme of things, I've learnt this the hard way, from some of my favourite artists suffering).

Sorry for rambling so much, I didn't mean to do this. The only good thing about Out of My Mind being a single is that hopefully it may boost the sales of Airplanes again slightly.

I think Mariah's song will do better than Madonna's, just because Mariah's is a pre-album single. Both will probably miss the top 100 though, but Triumphant is amazing. I just love her for that song. I'd hardly call them flops though, since their careers have been better than all the current load of pop artists combined!!

I agree with most people that Little Talks could do well.

Little Talks is great, another good song that bombed in BJSC and suddenly everyone likes (although I'm sure you'll have given it points... unlike some, I'm looking at YOU Batidas! :D )

I think I gave it 1 point. Would give it far more now obviously but not the top mark - incidentally, that would still go to Batidas (Kyla

I don't think in the 9 months or so I've known it I've ever played it more than this past week though, I'll be devastated if it chooses the UK and only the UK to flop in.

Lawson - Taking Over Me

No.1

Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks

No.18 - Trying not to be too optimistic, hopefully the fake version stabilising near the Top 300 for a while means there's some demand for it?

Redlight - Lost In Your Love

No.21

Dizzee Rascal (ft. Pepper) - Scream

No.34 - Just noticed the chorus on this is nearly identical to My Chemical Romance 'Sing'

Maxsta - I Wanna Rock

No.53

Yeah, I listened to it on Youtube and then read the comments section to see a massive arguement about that.

All of the 'official' Olympics songs have underperformed so far, Will Dizzee be the first to change that?

It doesn't help that, considering they are supposedly official, I have yet to hear any of them play any part in the games!

As much I love them, i think that Celine Dion will have the best comeback this year..Madonna's last era is a huge flop and i don't think that Mariah will do something more than her..I just heard "Triumphant" and it doesn't sound as a great song..Nothing special. Her first singles was million times better than it. She has a great career but her last singles were very mediocre (Plus her bad cover of the classic song "I want to know what love is"). I miss her first albums..Surely, you have right that their careers have been better than all the current load of pop artists combined but it doesn't mean that they have to release average songs and bad albums..Maybe, it would be better for them returning to her mansions..

'First Steps' is played on repeat on all the Olympics channels when there's no coverage on them. Other than that, they do seem quite absent considering they're meant to be official songs of the Olympics.

Would love for Mariah to be a surprise decent-sized hit here... I won't hold my breath.
