Wow, lots of people I hadn't even considered would manage hits are in here!

Did Craig David have a few? Wiki tells me he's had two Top 20 hits but I'm not sure how truthful that is.

Samantha Mumba is Irish isn't she?

I cannot believe that international superstar DES'REE has been ignored thus far - You Gotta Be (#5).
Wannabe hit #1 on the itunes rock chart in the US today too!

Billboard number 1s, oh obsessed one.

2012

01. Adele 'Set Fire to the Rain'

02. Ellie Goulding 'Lights'

03. The Wanted 'Glad You Came'

04. One Direction 'What Makes You Beautiful'

06. Jessie J 'Domino'

12. Calvin Harris 'Feel So Close'

16. Adele 'Rumour Has It'

17. Calvin Harris featuring Ne-Yo 'Let's Go'

24. Alex Clare 'Too Close'

39. One Direction 'One Thing'

51. The Wanted 'Chasing the Sun'

62. Rita Ora 'How We Do (Party)'

72. Florence and the Machine 'Shake It Out'

92. Ed Sheeran 'The A Team'

If anyone can think of any more, please post. Regardless, it's a weird mix of talent breaking through - we've got boybands, female singers, a male dubstep/soul singer and then on a lower scale Florence and the Machine, who should get another hit with the Harris remix of 'Spectrum' over there.

You forgot Cher Lloyd with "Want U Back" at #12 this year!

A few more I thought of:

#04 M.I.A. - Paper Planes

#23 Jessie J - Price Tag

#35 Mis-Teeq - Scandalous

I can't believe how successful Ellie Goulding's Lights has been in the US! Especially after flopping in the UK (not that it should have done, it's my favourite single from the album )

It was the last single from the album, had very little exposure because she was starting her US bid and it was an incentive to buy the album re-release an not much more.

Take That - Back for Good (#8)

This was number 7 not 8 and sold nearly 2 million out there

Can anybody update this? There's surely been a great deal more in the past 10 months :D

I guess it would depend where it'd get more responses. I'd say it falls within either remit.
