Why would it fool anybody? It's like her other urban hits like Your Love, Moment 4 Life, which is what made Nicki popular in the first place.

Beez in the Trap isn't very good (and did WORSE on urban radio than Super Bass). It has absolutely NO melody, and a boring chorus. This is much better. Urban fans like songs with lots of synths and lots of drums, like Niggas in Paris, Motivation, What's My Name?, etc.

There's certain drum patterns and rhythms that urban songs are supposed to have, and Starships and Pound the Alarm didn't use them, but this song does, so it's perfectly fine.

I agree with all of that.

I loon for Nicki, but I'm gonna find it seriously hard to get behind this as a single :(

I don't even think it's going to be released in the UK but it should be released, i like it the lyrics are more Hip-Hop Nicki

Okay, so to try and make myself like it, I've already played it 4 times - and it's growing already. I'd rather Va Va Voom in the UK over this, but I'm pretty I'll be a fan of this soon.
Really loving this just after the first listen. It's so slick and catchy! Nice for Nicki to bring Cassie back into the limelight too
Rob - I have listened once and had the same initial impression :( I hope it grows, I will probably end up doing the same as you and playing it to make myself like it. I don't know, I feel like she's trying too hard to impress both audiences without achieving that goal.
This is rather good, mainly just pleased she hasn't done another Starships clone as I expected. What's she doing stealing the first line of 'Hey, Soul Sister' though? :P

Yeah i thought she was going to break into some Train :drama:

It's a decent song, but i can't understand this whole re-up thing, when there is still good material that has been untouched on PFRR and could work as decent sized hits worldwide and actually help sell the album. When i first heard Roman Reloaded i thought she'd release as many singles as she did from Pink Friday because there's potential for a lot of them to be hits, instead we get two lots of Starships and then a rerelease  I love Nicki but her control over this era has been awful!

It has all just been a mess, and i'd rather just listen to her albums than bothering with all the singles and videos etc. It's too much hard work

This has grown on me. I dunno why they'd go with this over "Young Forever", but each to their own. Hasn't Cassie just signed to Wayne's record label? Probably his idea to get her a hit.
Really struggling to take this properly, it's good but I'm so glad we get Va Va Voom instead!
I am so behind this now, yes it's more urban/less pop than her recent singles but it still has plenty of catchy hooks and the rapping is really good. "you got cocks to blow"
Chorus is the only good bit. Nicki's hopeless.

i agree tbh, that's all i'm rly here for

it makes it a good song but considering nicki isn't the star, it's a pointless song to like...

Much prefer Cassie's original version, Nicki doesn't really add that much, if anything, for me.
Am I the only one who really loves this?! It's a bit of a hot mess, but I love the flow to it.
This is really growing on me. Probably because I have very little else to listen to right now but still loving it. Nicki can do SO much better though as so many of her album tracks prove.

Boring even w/ Cassie :-/ Not into it.

smh @ anyone who says Beez in the Trap is boring or bad. It's her best ????

It's just what I was saying earlier. It's totally inappropriate for an urban single. To have a hit on urban radio, you need a catchy melody + synths + lots of percussion. Beez in the Trap is percussion, and nothing else. Even Super Bass and Va Va Voom are more in-line with what gets played on urban radio than Beez in the Trap, which is like hearing a Nero song on Radio 2.

Beez in the Trap would've probably got to #1 on the urban airplay chart in the US if it sounded like this:
