When would Amelia have to get to #1 on Itunes to stand a chance of #1 Officially?

The best chance would probably be between today and Tuesday

When would Amelia have to get to #1 on Itunes to stand a chance of #1 Officially?

Well, as soon as possible. But it's more a matter of how long it stays there.

Some songs have got #1 officially without getting to #1 on iTunes before. And there have been other songs which spent the entire week at #1 on iTunes and not got it officially.

Such as? The only one I can think of is 'Poison' by Nicole Scherzinger, but I'm not sure if that was there all week.

I wish I could push a rocket up Under The Sun's arse into the top 10. Just two places to go... Hopefully with the Paralympics now over it will automatically go ahead of 'Harder Than You Think' into #11. Then just a small boost into top 10 (will This Morning promo really help that much?) I really hope she can do it!

Is This Morning confirmed?

Sak Noel - Loca People is the only one i can think of that wasn't #1 on itunes but got there officially.

Yeah, that's one example. Also Boys and Girls by Pixie Lott never got #1 on iTunes, but got it officially. And in Telephone's first week at #1, it only peaked at #3 on iTunes. Also I don't think the Children in Need Medley ever got #1 on iTunes. And I think in X Factor Finalists's 2nd week at #1 it was never #1 on iTunes (maybe). There's probably quite a few. Especially in the earlier days where iTunes (or downloads overall) wasn't such a high percentage of overall sales.

Poison got knocked off mid-week by Your Song (which spent ages at #1 on iTunes, never getting it officially, although I don't think it ever spent an entire chart week there). What's My Name? spent over 1 week at #1 on iTunes whilst Matt Cardle was #1 officially. And I think maybe Paradise was in a similar situation this year. Also, Pass Out by Tinie Tempah was #1 on iTunes for 3 and a half weeks, but only got 2 weeks officially.

The biggest example of this was in late 2009 when Jason Derulo 'Whatcha Say' was #1 on iTunes all week but peaked at no. 3 officially. The official no. 1 being Peter Kay's animated band (it was a genius idea  ) which made #1 because it sold so many CD singles, mainly for the music video which was its unique selling point.

To be fair, I did think it was a really good song. A medley is so much better for a charity song than a straight up cover, and I liked some of the song choices in it too (like Jai Ho! and One Day Like This). But it was unfortunate that Whatcha Say didn't get #1. I wish that and Ridin' Solo got #1 over Jason's two songs that actually did.

I still really love Whatcha Say (possibly my favourite male R&B track of the past few years) and I hated that Peter Kay track (even moreso for blocking that and Russian Roulette) :( I wouldn't have minded if Whatcha Say hadn't been #1 on iTunes, making me think that it would get it officially!

Why was Black Eyed Peas' Meet Me Halfway at #2 that week? Did it have numerous versions charting high on iTunes?

Russian Roulette is another song that might have spent the whole (or at least a large portion) of the week at #1 without getting it officially.

I still remember Rihanna's performance of it on X Factor, where she was sitting on that chair that was spinning around.

The best performance from that year though, was the Black Eyed Peas, with Fergie standing on the moon.

Whatcha Say is catchy as hell. I still remember the first time I ever heard it, I instantly loved it. And then a couple of months later at college everybody was obsessing over his Bittersweet Symphony remix, which eventually became Ridin' Solo and a massive hit.

Didn't JLS fall from #1 on iTunes on a Wednesday with 'The Club Is Alive' and was all the way down to #7 on iTunes by the Sunday yet still got #1 officially?

With what Harry Hill thought was a sausage in her hand, I think! (I hope you watched Harry Hill's TV Burp)

They fell to #5 on iTunes by the end of the week. But yeah, I was thinking either Airplanes or California Gurls would get #1, since they fell THAT far (and never had a huge lead to begin with), but they ended up like 10,000 ahead in the end somehow. I guess maybe physicals were part of the reason.

And oddly enough, despite that dramatic fall in their first week, they still managed 3 weeks overall in the top 10.

No, I don't watch that. I was soooo scared she'd fall off the moon though. Fergie is too good to lose. :( I wish I was on Buzzjack for that week though, I can't imagine the meltdowns with them beating Leona to #1. Since she probably seemed like a guaranteed #1 at the time considering how massive she was then.

My favourite Fergie TV performance was when she performed Glamorous and Big Girls Don't Cry at the Princess Diana concert.

Once by Diana Vickers ended up at #4 on iTunes by Sunday as well iirc!

Adding her figures on Kworb (30/ 8.95) it would put her at 12.

Thats not taking into account other multiple versions of other songs

Oh dear, so still not top 10. I hope she gets there soon. :(
