Born This Way's sales in its first week (Fri-Fri) was around 150k iirc, so it most definitely would have been #1 had it been released on the Sunday.

Va Va Voom  #53 - picking up quite fast now!

Y Muse is so high? I LOVE that!

And M&S are number 8 combined! maybe to 10 this week???

Anyone?

I think Muse doing well is just because of the 59p reduction and the fact Radio 1 & 2 are playing it to death. Also the fact it seems to be better received than Survival!
Look everyone OA/OS does not work in the UK. Reason being is the main radio stations excluding possibly Radio 1 and 2 love to play old music continually. Capital is not so bad, but when it's still got hits playlisted from April then I don't see how OA/OS can work. There's no marketing or promotion going on, so it's better to just hold it back/ How many big OA/OS hits have we had over here? I bet I could count the good ones on one hand, and I would need several hands for the bad ones...

Andy Williams Update:

073. Moon River

087. Can’t Take My Eyes Off You

164. Music to Watch Girls By

223. Can’t Get Used to Loving You

290. The Impossible Dream (The Quest)

621. Home Lovin’ Man

778. Music to Watch Girls By

I see we're not getting Diamonds any time soon then.

Thank God! :yahoo:

I want PSY at number 1 and Conor Maynard officially top 10 on sunday!

Surprised but pleased to see some Andy Williams tracks back in the top 100 - I'm not overly familiar with 'Moon River' but 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' is great. R.I.P.

(Will need to bring the death effects thread back then - feels like I haven't updated it in ages so I may well have missed some minor ones).

Entirely unrelated of course but 'Clique' is still at #33 and #77, could quite possibly get a third week top 40 then :o :cheer: Really amazed at how well it's holding up even with the Radio 1 support that 'Mercy' never got. (It wasn't top 40 in the mids today though).

246. Esta Noche - Big Hits 2012

Hoping it's a big hit for Azealia!

I don't have any idea why the song's title is in Spanish. Isn't totally sung in English?

18. I Will Wait - Mumford & Sons

33. I Will Wait - Mumford & Sons

59. Little Lion Man - Mumford & Sons

76. The Boxer (feat. Jerry Douglas & Paul Simon) [bonus Track] - Mumford & Sons

84. Babel - Mumford & Sons

95. The Cave - Mumford & Sons

'Little Lion Man' having a very nice resurgence and brilliant to see 'The Cave' joining it in re-entering the top 100! Hopefully 'The Boxer' can scrape the official top 100 this week although I expect it'll tail off pretty soon and miss out. 'Babel' is meant to be the second single according to Wikipedia, which would definitely be the right choice, one of the clear highlights of the album along with 'Lover Of The Light' (hopefully another future single?) and 'Broken Crown'

Lover Of The Light will be the second single on 3rd December according to MW

There have been quite a few OA/OS hits, Starships from Nicki Minaj i bet if she held that back it would never have been one of the highest selling singles of the year in the UK

ISTM when record companies hold back releases in the UK, then they lose credibility if they then complain about piracy/fake covers...

Erm, it IS the #5 single of the year? :P

OA/OS has been discussed to death here, but the bottom line is it will never work unless all artists and record labels switch to it at the same time. Otherwise it's not a level playing field.

Wrong. It's being released to iTunes at 2pm.

Was so sure. Knew it wouldn't be released..this is the UK. I hope it isnt as late as Nov 5th though!

So radio 1 plays older music MORE than capital?? Nonsense!!

On the OA/OS debate everyone knows the uk labels will react to thIS as FAST as a Tory reacting against gay rights or equality for everyone.

With OA/OS it stops labels from controlling the charts and making money from terrible 4 year life cycle boybands who need to top the chart to continue being relevant. Also the radio stations wont add OA/OS songs straight into their alists and the video being dropped on mtv on the day of release like Price Tag by Jessie J. The radio stations are in the hands of the big labels who play their big releases - until this changes the customer (us) will continue to have to wait 7 weeks for releases and have non no1s all summer - but itll implode on them when more and more turn to piracy!!

In the US, everything Taylor Swift goes straight to #1 even though they're always on air, on sale, so the same would probably happen with the boy groups in the UK.
^I still maintain the broader point my view tries to make!
