Given that Calvin has 6 top 3 hits on his album, it will be a bit of a turn up if he is beaten to no 1 by Kylie, who has Flower which is somewhere at the bottom of the top 200.

Well technically Kylie's new album has a lot more than 6 hits on it :P

True, but her back catalogue doesn't sell albums anymore! Her Greatest hits earlier this year missed the top 10

It could have been low Top 75 had it been chart eligible, but that doesn't really make any difference compared to 6 Top 3s :P

But that was because it had no new songs, and only reached #11 off the back of the Diamond Jubilee Concert.

She had already released a GH album though about 2 albums before this GH... so it is understandable that it didn't sell brilliantly.

Also in an age where you can purchase songs digitally and cherry pick, GH Albums are a bit silly really

It was a cheap cash in with nothing exciting to draw people in :P it did wonders to get to #11

Matt for #2 :kink:

Was hoping Madness to enter higher than 5 but is not going to happen. Would have been first time since 1980 that a studio album of theirs hit such heights.

Kylie is doing better than i thought so far. With her itunes number plus her fans will buy asap her initial mid week position will probably be higher than where she will end up. Hopefully a top 5 place or even top 5 on sunday and i would be delighted.

The last best of had nothing to offer, im a huge Kylie fan and have yet to purchase it as it offered absolutly nothing new and also didnt include some of my own kylie faves, i will buy it in the future when its going cheap just to keep my collection complete.

While the abbey roads is a greatest hits, it offers so much more as all the songs are really like new songs as they sound nothing like the originals, its like an album of covers really, initially i was not looking forward to this album at all but the results have pleasantly surprised me.

No1 is possible for Kylie.... Was not expecting anywhere near that! My brother in law doesn't like Kylie but he loved Never Too Late on the Jonathan Ross show.

The only drawback Calvin has 2 versions of his album, I just have a funny feeling she will have to settle for #2 by Sunday. Hopefully I'm wrong.

When I was in Asda earlier, I didn't see Kylies CD anywhere. Supermarkets don't sell many live albums anymore sadly. They hadn't put the store's chart on the wall when I went in, so it may have been there somewhere, where as Calvin's was on the Top shelf at "Number 1". But if the supermarkets aren't stocking Kylie, then Calvin defiantly has the upper hand this week.

It's still the highest artist-album, which I'm surprised by as when I saw your post, I though Calvin Harris had overtaken. I'm still thinking it will be #2/#3 come Sunday (Calvin is probably number one in the midweeks right now actually.)

32. Loreen - Heal

Still climbing. :D

I bet it's like the fastest selling album of the year in Sweden!

Calvin must overtake Kylie pretty soon? Kylie's album screams frontloaded fan purchase. He's now at #3 and #5 anyhow as fun. have fallen a bit now. And he's (presumably) #1 on the actual midweek charts which is where it counts :P

Its not a live album :P
