So two ELO albums in the midweek top 10 and a solo album by Jeff Lynne

Probably the first time since McCartney and Starr with the 2009 Beatles re-issues that a living person has had 3 simultaneous top 10 albums (if they all hold on that is, which probably won't happen :P)

Great increase since yesterday's update for both SHM and Adele, we could possibly be in for another 100k+ #2 (50k in 3 days for Adele, so another 50k in 4 days could happen, although ~90k is probably more realistic). Yay for Leona cracking the top 5 too, plus Disclosure in the top 40 and 'Clique' chasing a new peak again  Otto, Florence and Rudimental making climbs too, all good.

I do hope Ellie can hold onto #1 on the albums and if she's actually overtaken the Mumfords since yesterday then she probably has a chance, but 2k is not that great a lead so she could easily be caught again. Great to see confirmation that Mumfords are ahead of Muse in any case.

Wow at All Time Low being as high as #4, was expecting them to maybe scrape the top 10 in the mids then finish ~15 on Sunday but official top 10 could be in sight for them :o And absolutely fantastic to see Tame Impala #11, if they could hold onto the top 20 (like other recent animal-related bands Grizzly Bear and Band Of Horses :kink:) that would just be incredible. Ha at Mika struggling for the top 20 just two albums after 'Life In Cartoon Motion' dominated, he was definitely an 'of-the-time' act. And finally yay at Conor returning to the top 40, just hope this boost isn't short-lived.

I think Maroon 5 will be in the top 10 sooner or later with One More Night.

HTF are SHM *so* far ahead - they can't surely have had *that* many pre-orders?

Delighted that Ellie is #1 (wish her lead was larger though)! :cheer:  :yahoo:

Their EP is still number 1 in the iTunes Album Chart so that probably explains the big gap between #1 and #2.

Midweek Charts: Swedes to deny Bond girl Adele

1 Swedish House Mafia/John Martin (72k)

2 Adele (50k)

Gosh!!! :o

Of all the songs that could break Cheryl's record for fastest selling #1 of 2012, the honour could end up going to Swedish House Mafia. :o Plus, with Adele already selling 50k in 2 days, 'Skyfall' could easily sell another 50k at least by the end of Saturday night.

The top 2 looking at 100k+ sales. :D

Mega late I know but yet another glaring error from MW, this will be Leona's 9th top 10 hit, not her 8th. I wonder which one they somehow missed out...

They are probably forgetting the last single 'Hurt'. It only spent 2 weeks in the top 100 (8-68-OUT) lol

It also means that Adele is on for a sale of around 150-160k for its first 7 days on sale! :o

Incredible opening sales for Swedish House Mafia, great to see a Swedish act shifting singles in such a vast quantity!
Hurt charted Top 10 because of the EP, on the iTunes Singles Chart, I don't recall the actual song Hurt doing anything. So perhaps that's why MusicWeek are missing one of her Top 10s, but to be honest, a Top 10 is still a Top 10, and so Hurt should still be counted.

I presume Sweden hasn't had such a successful act since ABBA!

I dunno, I think Ace Of Base may have done pretty well...

Don't forget to a minor extent, Robyn & Eric Prydz! And most recently, Loreen!

Hardly comparable, but... point taken.

After a quick look on Wikipedia, Ace of Base seemed to have lots of worldwide success in the 90s, Robyn has been quite successful around the world – some countries more than others, and Loreen doesn’t really count since she has had *one* hit thanks to Eurovision! :P

I'm pretty sure 'Hurt' the track got to #2 on iTunes (but I believe the EP sales were combined to the track as the EP was only 3 tracks?)

My other thought was maybe they somehow missed 'Collide' due to it being credited to 'Leona Lewis / Avicii'.

That is a MEGA flop for Mika's third album (which I didn't know about until Monday, but y'know).

That probably IS the reason. I wouldn't say it's a flop seeing as he's had no real success since 'We Are Golden' (if you want to call that a success )

I'd call that the song which killed his career, personally.

Shame, as 'Rain' and 'Blame It On The Girls' were actually good but nobody was going to care at that point. :(

I loved Rain... and Kick Ass too - but WAG has seemingly killed off his career in the UK it seems
