Not sure if JLS can make it. They're only around 30% of the #1, and i doubt the XFactor will have too large an effect. They will also fall quite fast throughout the week even if they get the #1 on iTunes tonight.

They have the EP at #2 though and physical sales - Lawson were lower at this point last week and ended up at #4 in the first 2 sets of mids so I think JLS will at least do as well as that and they still have the XF performance - I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is at this stage and I still think they could challenge for #1

Swedish House Mafia also have an EP at #13, and it has remained around there for a week now. It will probably overtake JLS's in a few days! I agree that JLS will definitely chart well this week, but i can see them quite easily missing the #1 which is a shame as the song is fairly listenable, especially compared to some of their other lacklustre singles!

Wasn't it #18 in its 4th week rather than #14? I think that week they calculated the charts wrong (anybody remember that? It was an absolute MESS ).

I think the mistake was in its 5th week where it was announced as #18 but was actually #22 :P

As of the end of 2011, in the year-end charts they placed:

47 - 348,300 - Jason Derulo - Don't Wanna Go Home - 348,300 - 02/07/11 - 1

49 - 347,600 - Rihanna ft Drake - What's My Name - 773,600 - 27/11/10 - 1

52 - 342,000 - JLS - She Makes Me Wanna - 342,000 - 06/08/11 - 1 (Can people STOP saying this was a non-#1, 52nd biggest-selling song of the year for goodness sake!!! :drama:)

54 - 340,200 - Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight - 340,200 - 03/12/11 - 1

57 - 329,400 - Ke$ha - We R Who We R - 334,100 - 08/01/11 - 1

59 - 325,500 - Pixie Lott - All About Tonight - 325,500 - 17/09/11 - 1

64 - 311,600 - Dappy - No Regrets - 311,600 - 01/10/11 - 1

73 - 282,900 - Wretch 32 - Don't Go - 282,900 - 27/08/11 - 1

82 - 256,600 - Sak Noel - Loca People - 256,600 - 08/10/11 - 1

96 - 237,000 - Example - Stay Awake - 237,000 - 10/09/11 - 1

112 - 209,000 - Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger - 209,000 - 13/08/11 - 1

122 - 179,000 - Matt Cardle - When We Collide - 992,800 - 25/12/10 - 1

132 - 167,200 - XFF/JLS/One Direction - Wishing On A Star - 167,200 - 10/12/11 - 1

135 - 164,200 - Nero - Promises - 164,200 - 20/08/11 - 1

Almost all the #1s that year made the year-end top 100 (and one of the ones that didn't sold most of its copies in 2010, and is a million seller/will be a million seller), so it wasn't too bad. Of course, sales will have changed a bit in the past 9 months.

Oops, I somehow mistook Wishing on a Star for Heroes which I think finished in the 50s the year before  probably reflects how shit they all are :P

Oh right. I knew it was something involving #18 and a move by 4 places.

That's an easy mistake. I remember in 2010 when they released the charity single, the charity single from 2008 re-entered the top 100 on iTunes, from people getting mixed up between the two. And on Radio 1 when they were counting down the biggest-selling songs of the century, they also played the wrong X Factor charity single.

By not going up against Rihanna and the novelty dance track of the year :kink: JLS have always seemed to be quite lucky and careful in the weeks that they release to give them the best chance of getting to #1

Edit: Already  to 9!

Nah, 1D didn't sell much in their opening week...

 44. Flaws - Bastille

!!!

On it's way to becoming a Top 20 hit?

 40 Flaws - Bastille

Wow, excellent to see Bastille getting a hit. "Bad Blood" only reaching #90 was shameful.

I bet "Don't You Worry Child" will be this week's #1. JLS will trail of massively by the end of the week and now they don't catch up by MASSIVE steps. JLS will most probably be #3, maybe #2 at a push.

On the album/EP Charts -

 2 Bastille - Flaws :o

 3 JLS - Hottest Girl In The World

'Flaws' also  34 on the main chart - Pleased this is looking like being a hit for them!

Pleasing to see that 'Hottest Girl...' isn't struggling quite so much as 'Proud' was at around about this time during it's release week - I'll be made up for them if they get top 3 or top 5 again. They're on Alan Carr: Chatty Man next Friday as well which will help from the whole 'midweek/end of the week slump' angle.
I predict Labrinth & Emeli Sande will be top 5 next Sunday after tonight's X Factor performance. Such a great record!

Would love to see that happen but really not sure the performance will have that much of an impact - Its currently #90 on iTunes would love to see it surge into the Top 10 though!

If low top 10 is the best that this new JLS track can get then I can't see the album being anything more as their last studio album before a GH set for next Xmas and a goodbye from the boys.

To be fair that was probably the plan anyway - Still think this will be Top 2 next Sunday

Are X Factor performances having much of an impact this year?
