Trump voters shouldnt be allowed to reproduce #MakeAmericaGreatAgain
"people power and nationalism". how very 1930s

Tbf, it feels like we are back in the 1930s now anyway.

Yes he's outspoken but a lot of that is just bravado, let's see what happens, it could make a refreshing change.

If America didn't want him he wouldn't have won

Why do you keep talking about Ella Henderson here? where's the connection and relevance between her and the U.S Presidential election?

Technically Michigan, Minnesota and New Hampshire still have to vote, so Trump could still win the popular vote. But still, it just makes everything so much more disheartening.

I am so disappointed right now. 59 million Americans decided to vote for a racist, a misogynist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, a climate change denier, you name it. And because of them, the Paris Agreement could very well fall apart, and our last chance to stop global warming will be blown. Not only that, but a woman's right to an abortion in America will likely be destroyed by the Republicans. And abroad, "people" like Marine Le Pen see their abhorrent views held by the most powerful man on earth.

This is just the icing on the cake for a truly atrocious year.

RE: "Fantastic President"

The USA is going to be insular again. That worked beautifully last time: a banking crisis/stock market plummet, world war as fascists took advantage of poor people doing badly, and tens of millions dead.

The USA can refuse to engage with the rest of the world, but it'll be short of customers, jobs will get harder to come by, foreign goods will be priced out, and the world will be more dangerous as foreign rulers, like his big mate Vlad, get more powerful.

Or else Trump lied about everything and it'll be Republican Business As Usual, the rich get richer, the poor get hammered, and the suckers who fell for it will try and find someone else to blame other than themselves.

He's an infamous Buzzjack troll / Ella Henderson loon who's made many alias accounts after being banned.

This alias of his has now been banned too.

Yes there have been hiccups along the way but he's still built a one billion dollar empire, could be worth much more if he's to be believed.

No-one's mentioned that the lovely Melania Trump will be the new First Lady.

What a f***ing come down

Donald Trump 2012: "The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy."

well, he said it!

I'm guessing the final percentage ratio of votes for both (excluding others) will be about what I thought it would be: 50 point something Clinton, 49 point something Trump. Pity, as in 2000, and in the UK's system, it's not who gets the most votes that matters....(unless you're a Brexiter of course and then it's set in stone)

T.May is of course now going to try fishing for a US trade deal (first to suck up to Trump in the media). Good luck with that one sweetie when he insists you cough up more money for NATO. Given that American companies own shitloads of former British companies, not quite sure what you think we can offer them that they want......

Totally heartbroken by this result, 2016 has been a really depressing year.

I did watch some of the coverage last night on the BBC but when most of the northeastern states started to be called comfortably for Hillary I thought I'd go to bed (at around 01:30 GMT) safe in the knowledge that she ‘had it in the bag’, how the experts could get it so wrong and how someone so ridiculous could end up following a truly great and unifying statesman like Obama is truly baffling.

A song which is very appropriate for today:

I'm not sure if (probably) winning the popular vote is GOOD because it means more American's voted for common decency, humanity and an inclusive view of the world or just the poison cherry on top of this SHIT SANDWICH.

The popular vote results is making this so much harder to take.

It's as though the "rigged system" that Trump talked about actually worked in his favour.

I'm hoping that the election was actually rigged for Trump so he'd shut up about the system and we elect Hillary as the real winner.
You've got a point Burbe. If Michelle can be talked into it, i think Trump can be restricted to a single term and Michelle can assend to the presidency to save us all

That's if he makes it through the first term. Some scandal might happen that forces him to resign.

Seriously, Trump needs to stop ALL the divisive policies like the Mexican wall/ban on Muslims and actually get on with the good parts of his policy, namely the economic regeneration of old abandoned industrial areas like in Ohio for example.

He probably won't though. He would lose the support of Republican voters for the next election.

I don't think Michelle Obama would be a good candidate, like Hillary she is married to a former president and that goes down bad now. And also there was much media coverage in some circles about her over spending while First Lady, but that was probably Republican backed so I would take that with a pinch of salt (although the Trump team would use that heavily in a campaign against her). She did successfaully campaign for a lot of issues and that is great for her presidential CV though, but I think the being married to a former president in the light of what happened with Hillary in the 2016 election would be a bad thing for votes, it makes her part of the establishment.

No the Democrats need someone like Bernie Sanders, outside the political establishment.

Trump won't resign unless the scandal is going to put him in PRISON. Plus with a fully Republican congress he's basically safe and sound until at least 2020 (assuming Dems make modest gains in 2018 midterms).

In all seriousness...

As someone who comes from an immigrant family, I'm terrified. As a first-time voter, I feel unrepresented. And as a victim of bullying in the past, I am disgusted at how the majority of America would choose to elect one as our leader. To glorify the one thing we as a society have been trying to prevent for the past two millennia. It's pretty clear that the only people America wants to represent are men of white privilege who use that power to brush others aside, abuse others, and silence those who want their voices heard the most. So, to quote Taylor Swift, I, and the other millions of people, black, Asian, Latino, female, LGBT, disabled, low-economy, and whoever else that will be affected by this, "would like to be excluded from this narrative, one that we never asked to be a part of" for the next four years.

Looks like we have to wait that long to actually #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.

I hope the Secret Service are on the ball and don't let anything happen to President Trump. Can't believe I'm even typing that! Only takes one nut with a gun.

Bernie will be too old in 4 years. He looked on the campaign trail this year that he was about to drop dead any minute.
