Glee still happens? Thought everyone was over it. Slightly off topic but apparently Dido has collaborated with Rizzle Kicks. Very WTF moment.

Sadly I don't think Gangnam Style will ever reach #1, unless Glee gives it a massive boost for the original song. It's airplay is virtually nothing now so it's only holding up based on streams and sales (and the fact it's down to #7 on Billboard Hot 100 isn't promising either...). :(

Yeah, it's lack of airplay is definitely what's hurting it. Most songs in the US take AGES to get to #1 though, Gangnam Style shot up the charts there remarkably quickly tbh. But it probably won't happen for Gangnam Style since its airplay is unlikely to make a resurgance.

MY QUEEN.

She's worked with Faithless (through her brother) and Eminem, so hardly that WTF.

One of the strangest recent chart collaborations has to be Mario Winans/P. Diddy/Enya. Although like with Stan, it was more them crediting the sample, rather than them actually getting together and deciding to record a song. If everybody credited samples like that, you'd get some very strange collabs.

2Pac feat. Elton John - Ghetto Gospel being a good example.

On paper it reads like the worst idea ever, but thanks to Eminem on production duty, he somehow made it work.

Ghetto Gospel is one of my favourite songs of all time! I love it so much!

A lot of dance songs that are originally instrumentals, but then sample the vocals off another song for single release credit the sample aswell. Another example I can think of is Dev on Like a G6.

Others would be Levels crediting Etta James, Don't Stop the Music would have to feature Michael Jackson, Lonely by Akon would have to feature Alvin and the chipmunks Bobby Vinton and Niggas in Paris would have to sample Will Ferrell

Elton has been a credited sample at least twice (Ironik's 'Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer)' as well).

Nice resurgence for 'Candy' after it was used in a VT on X Factor (or is there another reason it's climbing?) Should stay top 10 for a few more weeks still then!

'Gangnam Style' at #8 and #20, possibly could climb again this week officially? Certainly at least a non-mover as it was on Wednesday.

Yes =)

The first big solo concert since 2006.

Right now on Sky 1

It was also on Strictly Come Dancing as I've just found out from my parents watching the recording of it :P That's probably the main reason. Nonetheless, great to see it climbing again.

I love that song. That was a very strange collaboration aswell. Also, Tamia on So Into You by Fabolous (doubt anybody here remembers that, but I still hear it around a lot today).

Given that Eminem and Faithless are leagues better than Rizzle Kicks, I'd still say it was a bit WTF.

437. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)

 Radio better hop on this 'ish at the New Year. Played this at my school a few das ago and every loved it. The trumpet bit alone>>

I now it's early days, but I really feel it could go #1 in the US (making it the first hip hop song to get to #1 in over 2 years by the time it'll get there). It's already getting played on pop, rhythmic and alternative radio stations, and that sort of song hasn't got that kind of support so early on in years. Radio airplay (especially pop radio) is a key factor in the Hot 100, and what usually holds those songs back if they don't use dance beats.

741. Die Young - Ke$ha

I'm guessing this is the pre-order? Not doing to well, is it
