November 23, 201213 yr Author Midweek Charts update: Murs heading for best sales start yet Source: MW by Paul Willams Olly Murs is on course to achieve the highest first-week singles sales of his career as Troublemaker heads to the top of the UK chart this weekend. The newly-issued Epic single featuring Flo Rida had sold 98,759 units by the end of business on Thursday, according to the Offcicial Charts Company. With two days of trading still to go, that is already more copies than his No 1s Please Don't Let Me Go (93,239) and Dance With Me Tonight (74,475) sold in their entire first weeks, while it should easily surpass the opening tally of 109,151 copies sold for fellow chart-topper Heart Skips A Beat last year. As Murs heads for his fourth No 1 single, he will deny the reformed Girls Aloud a fifth chart-topper with their comeback Polydor track Something New nearly 40,000 sales behind in second place on the latest midweeks. Syco act One Direction, who debuted at 1 last Sunday with Little Things, are now down to 3, just ahead of Alicia Keys' brand new RCA cut Girls On Fire at 4. Another Syco release, Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth featuring Emeli Sande, falls 4-5. Rihanna is heading for her fourth UK artist albums chart-topper with the Def Jam/Mercury-issued Anapologetic, which is currently around 30,000 sales ahead of closest challenger Take Me Home by One Direction. Lined up directly below them are three new entries with Led Zeppelin's Atlantic/Rhino/Swansong live set Celebration Day at 3, Little Mix's Syco debut DNA at 4 and an expanded version of Michael Buble's Reprise/Warner Bros 2011 set Christmas at 5. There are two other new arrivals in the Top 10 as it presently stands with Susan Boyle's fourth Syco album Standing Ovation - The Greatest Songs at 6 and Ministry of Sound signing Example's The Evolution Of Man at 9. The biggest-selling album of the week by far is the EMI TV/UMTV compilation Now! 83, which by the end of Thursday had sold around 204,000 copies. Its 2011 equivalent, Now! 80, sold 295,823 copies across its entire first week last November. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friday Update Top 40 Only Singles 1 Olly Murs/Flo Rida (98,759) 2 Girls Aloud (59k) 3 One Direction 4 Alcia Keys 5 Labrinth/Emeli Sande Top 15 Christina Perri 14 Rudimental/John Newman/Alex Clare Top 30 21 Script/will.i.am 27 AC/DC [bIB] Top 40 31 P!nk 36 Little Mix [Wings] AC/DC [HTH] Naughty Boy/Emeli Sande Rihanna/David Guetta AC/DC [YSMANL] ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 Rihanna (30k ahead) 2 One Direction 3 Led Zeppelin 4 Little Mix 5 Michael Buble Top 10 Susan Boyle 9 Example Top 15 AC/DC Top 30 Rita Ora Eva Cassidy 29 Whitney Houston Top 40 38 Maroon 5 NO SALES INFO
November 23, 201213 yr Led Zepellin down to #3 :( Does anyone have any information on how much Mothership has sold? Edit: I've asked Vidcapper! Edited November 23, 201213 yr by HausofKubrick
November 23, 201213 yr One Direction back up to number 2 in the albums, i believe they will have strong sales yet again this week, add this to their huge american success its a good week for them. Could i ask would you know Kylie Minogue's position for the Abbey Roads Session?
November 23, 201213 yr Author Any updates for green day? 30+4 Could i ask would you know Kylie Minogue's position for the Abbey Roads Session? 20+5
November 23, 201213 yr GA sales I've rounded them to 58k Actually they're on 59k since Olly is on 98,7k and they're less than 40k behind. So they've sold 4k yesterday. And if we go by Itunes popularity bars, One Direction has probably sold 5-6k yesterday and therefore are on 46-47k. Which means the gap is around 12k-13k now, with two days left. Hold on girls !
November 23, 201213 yr GA sales I've rounded them to 58k It'll be nearer 59k, or maybe even a little over 59k, as it's "nearly 40,000 behind" Olly. So it's definitely done at least 58,760+. Edit: Beaten by Hayzayy! :P
November 23, 201213 yr Green Day falling at an alarming rate, the third set of this trio will probably sell even less. Thank you for the Kylie Minogue update, she should be safe for a top 30 position now for this week. Girls Aloud should end the week on around 75,000. Now, 75,000 is good but considering it is their comeback and mix that with it is the offical children in need single i expected much more. I had hoped this single would do really well for them as it would provide a better chance they would stay together.
November 23, 201213 yr Wow Olly is dominating, incredible sales! Any idea what Robbie and Cheryl were at by this point? Edited November 23, 201213 yr by BuzzLightyear
November 23, 201213 yr Any idea what Robbie and Cheryl were at by this point? I don't think a Friday figure was revealed for Cheryl, but she was already on 97k by the Wednesday update. Robbie was on 100,209 on Friday!
November 23, 201213 yr I don't think a Friday figure was revealed for Cheryl, but she was already on 97k by the Wednesday update. Robbie was on 100,209 on Friday! Ok thanks for that! So we're looking at him possibly beating Robbie, but Cheryl will probably remain the fastest seller. Well she can have that with those poor album sales!
November 23, 201213 yr Led Zepellin down to #3 :( Does anyone have any information on how much Mothership has sold? Edit: I've asked Vidcapper! Not one I can help with - the album pre-dates my tracking.
November 23, 201213 yr Author I think Olly is definitely on for a second week at #1 his sales will decrease a bit though with the album track getting cherry picked, should hit over 100k by the end of tonight, probably at the end of Saturday night his total sales around 116k to 120k, could be a little bit more. Olly's album is out next week, he should stay steady on the singles chart for at least another 2 weeks I think. Great time to release a single and album with the X Factor in full swing. And sorted the sales for GA, I just went for the safe option of 58k... ooops.
November 23, 201213 yr Rihanna around 30k ahead of #2, while on Wednesday it was over 20k. She's pulling away! :D
November 23, 201213 yr So we're looking at him possibly beating Robbie, but Cheryl will probably remain the fastest seller. Well she can have that with those poor album sales! But Rob had a performance at GH show on Friday. Any shows for Olly these days? anyway congrats to his fans with his new fastest single in career =)
