So Rihanna is on less than 64k so far. Not great sales. there seems to be a lot of online negativity about her new album - I wonder if that is affecting sales

Only if your name was Adele, could 64k be considered 'not great'.

Susan Boyle will probably remain Top 10 thanks to the #susanalbumparty trending...

I've been to parties like that before, wonder if hers will have a sling too :teresa:

Over 100K for first week is amazing, especially in todays sales climate for albums. Also Rihanna is performing on X Factor Sunday so another big week for her album sales wise, + will sell well over Christmas i'm sure.

Her last album debuted on 168k last year at around this time, so no this one isn't great in Rihanna terms.

1D debuted on 150k last week, and Mumford and Sons around the same a few weeks before, and Rihanna's profile over the past few weeek has arguably been up there with 1D.

Though I'm sure it will sell well over the Christmas period.

She's the biggest star in the world, but these sales don't match that status

she is going to do over 100K in a week without any kind of promo and releasing an album year after year for the 7th time....

She has promo this weekend... probably next week's sales will be round or even above those 100K

No promo? Other than both her single and video being on constant rotation on all music and video channels, and blanket coverage in the press about her new album and 777 tour? Most artists would kill for that sort of "no promo".

Excuse my language but f***ing hell! Can't believe Olly's 28,000 ahead of the girls...didn't think it'd be such a big gap! I'm really pleased for them both though...at least it won't be another 'Untouchable' scenario with the girls again. And obviously so proud of Olly...looks like he'll get his fourth number 1 in 3 years. Who'd have thought?

Look get over it she will have sold probably over 250k after 2 weeks of release in the UK. There is basically no other Artist bar Adele who will be doing that.

Oh dear...

Did people actually expect this album to open with as much as Talk That Talk?

'Talk That Talk' actually opened with less than I remembered, for some reason I had convinced myself it did like 200k and I didn't bother fact-checking that :kink:

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the fact that Adele looks like she's finally going to fall out of the top 40 after 96 weeks!

:( She'd better get back in there.

It might have had higher sales than it's first week sales at one point, not sure if it was over 200k or not.

EDIT: It seems her highest sales after her first week sales was 143k, so it did't see more after all. I might have been thinking of Amy Winehouse who opened with 194k and had a week over 200k two weeks later.

She usually has a decent "weekend effect", although there is no new entries that could drop out of the T40 in place of 21 - the lowest is Whitney Houston who is still T40 on iTunes.

I wanted her to make at least 100 weeks before dropping out for the first time. Hopefully she's at #41 in today's update and could climb back in

Skyfall is 10p on Amazon (assume as part of Black Friday and for today only). Not sure if it'll have much of an effect but it is unsurprisingly #1 on their mp3 chart. May climb a bit as a result.

It would be so nice to see a share of these digital stores in the official chart. The last report is from years back.
