This is probably going to end up as like the 3rd lowest selling #1 of the year isn't it :( Shame as it's the 2nd best #1 of the year behind 'Paradise' for me.

I'm assuming the bottom two will be Cover Drive and Chris Brown, but sure "Sweet Nothing" should edge towards 350k and catch these:

Part of Me

Sing

How We Do

Let Me Love You

Maybe even "Little Things" if it starts falling faster as well.

Still love Skyfall. I really, really, really want to watch the film again, it's unbelievably excellent!
I honestly don't get where all the love for 'Latch' came from - it's bizarre. To me, it could just as easily be any track for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs' discography; yet while he struggles to even get a top 100, Disclosure come along and nab a #11 peak. Hopefully the breakthrough of this track is a hint that 2013 could be the year of slow-tempo electronic music being successful.

I don't feel Latch is slow-tempo, but it's more minimal than most other dance songs. I agree, I hope more songs like that can become hits. I think Disclosure were well-known, or had a following before Latch, because some of my friends have loads of songs by them.

Eek. Hold up better NOW plox. (Still top 15 on iTunes right now so hopefully not too big a fall next week).

I never realised this before, but 'Can You Hear Me?' and 'Don't You Worry Child' have practically the same intro.

Oh yeah! Never realised that either!

I've previously noticed On the Floor by Jennifer Lopez and The Power of Love by Madonna have the same intros too, and overall the songs don't sound the same!

Still love Skyfall. I really, really, really want to watch the film again, it's unbelievably excellent!

So do i! I keep going over some of the scenes in my head, and don't want to miss the chance to see it on the big screen again. So many other films i need to see instead though!

This really has almost completely done a 'Born This Way' with a higher peak hasn't it? Its grown on me a lot since I first heard it, still haven't seen the movie though :(

Discussion Thread Here

Couldn't agree more! Can You Hear Me? and Heatwave should swap chart runs. If it wasn't for Ms D, Heatwave would have been the worst number one of the year for me, ahead of Turn Up the Music.

I couldn't agree more either!

Top 5 #1s of the year so far...

01 David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium

02 Rihanna - Diamonds

03 Florence + The Machine - Spectrum

04 Cheryl - Call My Name

05 Tulisa - Young

Worst 5 #1s of the year so far...

01 Maroon 5 - Payphone

02 Wiley feat Ms D - Heatwave

03 Ne-Yo - Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)

04 Chris Brown - Turn Up The Music

05 Flo Rida - Good Feeling

I'm pretty certain it's Chris Brown who has the least-selling #1 of the year. I certainly hope it is, I love Twilight. Turn Up the Music also got discounted, which Twilight didn't.
Will Adele ever shoot a video for Skyfall? It's weird when a big hit ends up without a proper videoclip.
Over to Ben now! :D

Thank Jay, and also to Gezza ;)

Oh yeah! Never realised that either!

I've previously noticed On the Floor by Jennifer Lopez and The Power of Love by Madonna have the same intros too, and overall the songs don't sound the same!

Another one is also Party Rock Anthem and Call My Name. When one comes on, I always think it's the other at the start.

Skyfall is beginning to wear off for me, love the movie though.

Following songs are out of the top 40:

37 Example - Close Enemies

36 Paloma Faith - Never Tear Us Apart

35 Otto Knows - Million Voices

34 Conor Maynard feat. Ne-Yo - Turn Around

32 Lana Del Rey - Ride

31 Christina Aguilera - Your Body

21 Stooshe - Waterfalls
